I love what Thorne is doing at Peel. He is a ball magnet, but I am concerned he simply isn't big enough to survive AFL footy. And I don't just mean height. He is so slight of frame. In an AFL squad, running out on field, he would look like a kid in oversized clothes just there to break the team banner down, and then go sit with his parents in the grandstand.

He simply doesn't look as durable as say Caleb Daniels, who could take a heavy tackle and get up again.

I'd like to be proved wrong. I wouldn't mind Freo picking him up, but I would be nervous for him.

Thorne is much too small and light and doesn’t have the weapons to counter the lack of size to make it imo.

Richmond fans on the Draft Board and Richmond Board already peddling it as big news.
Heh.. Of course he's linked to the tigers, he grew up supporting them, and is a like for like swap for Cotch. That's nothing new.
Suma tried this with Sean Darcy last month (to Geelong), when big Sean found out, he jumped up off a massage table and wanted blood for the lies being spread.

Let them believe the salty campaigner. Makes it more fun.
Does it mean it won't happen? no, but he's not saying anything profound here

Peter Sumich says Richmond are targeting Adam Cerra, and Fremantle can't ask for too much because Cerra can walk into the pre-season draft:

:moustache:

1. Cerra doesn’t hate the club and isn’t gonna just bail to the draft.
2. Richmond isn’t gonna let a kid like Cerra enter the draft, they’re professional enough to get it done.
3. The draft is more of a threat for Freo. Not sure Cerra is going to wanna end up at north.

Sean Darcy fronting that mental pygmy would be fun to see. Suma would not be able to get back to his carrot farm quick enough.

I consider Peter Sumich in the same light as I consider Kim Hagdorn - i.e. an irrelevant hack making shit up to get clicks. The sooner people stop clicking on his stories, listening to his radio pieces and generally just ignore him the sooner he will go away.

Suma is in no danger of embarrassing himself by having to turn down a Rhodes Scholarship or a Nobel Prize...

I liked Thorne in his draft year and he's certainly started 2021 well, but no doubt his size is an issue.

But I mentioned him more in that a lot of clubs will look to their reserves side first. Similar to how Hawthorn will take Jai Newcombe, Carlton and Alex Mirkov. It's an area I think we're overlooking - recruiting players to Peel. I think we (or Peel) should be looking to bring in at least one overlooked draftee each year. Adelaide do it well, and not just with the younger kids - with Farrar and Hutchesson both being drafted as mature aged guys. This year, Oliver Davis moved over from Tasmania to play for them and he's a good chance to be picked by them in the mid season draft. Lachlan Murphy missed in his draft year, moved over from Victoria to play in the Crows reserve side and was then rookie listed by them a year later.

I do like that we got Brodie Lake back from SA. He was a genuine draft chance last year, maybe he could interest us either now or come December.

He played well in Peel's previous win against Perth a couple of weeks ago. Took the game on and seemed to have a bit of pace. Is that running defender role his regular position?

Elite speed and athleticism at the draft combine. He played pretty much every position last year, showed some signs as a half forward and through the midfield. Running defender is his most likely home, but has the versatility that you could develop him elsewhere.

We spent 15 pages on Cripps when our 1 ITK poster guaranteed he was coming, (Which he still hasn’t apologised for 🤨).
So the fact they’re running with Cerra is no surprise, the fact anyone can understand what Suma is going on about is the real surprise.

It’s become obvious now Sumich won’t get a job coaching in the afl, even a development role is beyond him. He’s trying to turn his pathetic excuse of a life into a “media personality” and is being coached by Hagdorn. It doesn’t anger me, it’s simply pathetic. But he doesn’t have skills nor intellect to transfer into a meaningful role. He has to try and make himself relevant to earn coin. I’d feel sorry for him if he wasn’t potting our club.

Think Suma is now just hackdorn's mouth piece now.

Bro, he was clearly tongue in cheek when telling the Carlton dude he was coming to Freo

Reckon Suma is considerably worse than Hagdorn. At least Haggers got the odd one right. Reckon Suma is 0 and 200.
I appreciated the Richmond supporter who said there is no way the club would spend 2 x late 1st round draft picks on Cerra.

Was it THE_GUN or whatever? Speaking of rhodes scholars I'd say minimal chance he was ever in the hunt either. One of those over the top one-eyed supporters without a hint of humility or objectivity.

I’m really liking the look of him. You can just see that he’s got talent and even though he’s not getting big possessions, what he does is a step above the level.

Along these lines, how have our NGAs who missed out last year (Chris Walker and ... I can't remember) been tracking this year? They haven't been playing for Peel, have they?

Sumich's money line, "I'm hearing..."
What you're hearing Peter, is that little voice in your head, telling you you're irrelevant, and that those Wonder White royalties aren't paying the bills anymore!

Suma’s list management strategy:

1.Trade your best players, and any interstaters on your list
2. Don’t bother asking for much, they are just gonna leave anyway.
3. ????
4. Premiership?

It’s really hard to see why such a big brain keeps getting overlooked for senior jobs, perplexing.

it’s more concerning/dumbfounding that he was potentially in the top two choices..
