And I want Jessica Alba, which is far more attainable than getting a first for Ladhams.
Santa: what would you like for Christmas?
Port: Jessica Alba to come naked to our Xmas lunch
Santa: please be realistic
Port: Ok, two firsts for Ladhams
Santa: … what time should I tell Jessica lunch is?

Tigers by all accounts want the Dogs pick 17 a lot of the third round picks they likely wont use. Dogs would like some mid 20s picks to do better trades or build further points.

Time is our friend with the CCJ trade the longer it takes the more they sweat that someone will deal with the Dogs
Free agency finishes Friday.
Come Thursday Taz's management will be telling Richmond to get it done.
He wont take the risk in the PSD.
That is when it goes through IMO.

If things turn to poo in discussions, CCJ 100% gets to the Roos, Taz may get to the Tigers. Taz would be nervous!

don't forget we will get a compensation pick for tarrant.

richmond want to put tarrant into the trade as to not dilute their compensation for Chol....well if they're rejecting 38 + tarrant for CCJ then we should be reminding them we're missing out on our tarrant compensation by putting him into a trade.
Yes that's exactly what I summarised... which is why j don't really get why we'd even bother calling Richmond. Just let both players move to the clubs of their choice, one via free agency, the other via PSD. If Richmond not happy with that, they need to get on the phone and call us and negotiate.

The way the media is reporting it, it's like we're trying to negotiate with them so we get a worse deal... WTF?

Agree except we've made our offer. Now we can just not return their calls til Friday
I would start talking when Taz's management asks us to.
We can do the trades separately.
I think it would be better for us to.
If we got a future 4th for taz on his own that is a decent result.

A lot of overrating of Ainsworth in here (probably because people only see him against North - a team he's kicked the most goals against. And because he was an early draft pick).

- He's injury prone
- He averages less than a goal a game as a forward (52 in 74 games).
- He's lazy - after his first 2 seasons his tackling numbers dropped as did his desire to chase.
- He isn't fit enough to contribute in the midfield rotations.

We need pressure and speed in our forward line. Not 178cm marking forwards that don't run or kick goals. Give me Ford and Zurhaar any day of the week. Ainsworth is like a low rent version of them without the marking power or physicality.

Garry Lyon was right - if Ainsworth was playing for any other team he'd be getting ripped apart. But because it's Gold Coast and they're stuff ups it gets glossed over. Look at them - Ainsworth Pick 4, 2016), Jack Scrimshaw (Pick 7, 2016), Peter Wright (Pick 8, 2014), Callum Ah Chee (Pick 8, 2015), Will Brodie (Pick 9, 2016), Jarrod Garlett (Pick 15, 2014), Brayden Fiorini (Pick 20, 2015)...

Ainsworth will probably be delisted soon enough and rightfully so.

Envious that they've snared Neville Nobody or the fact that they may need to use 2 years of draft pick on young Daicos?

Agree, they haven't done anything of note. Have one pick now next yr and this year hopefully all their picks are consumed in a bid so they get daicos who alone isn't going to turn the place around. Not sure how they will get lipinski as dogs want mid 20s.... psd maybe but we are before too

Yep this is like buying t-shirts in Bali....They go ridiculously high & we go ridiculously low but we both know it only gonna be $2.50.
Except when I do the bargaining. I'm not good at remembering where the decimal points go when converting foreign currency... so paid 10x and 100x more than I thought... no wonder the Balinese guy asked me to come back the next day...

I'm not taking anything as gospel, but I would be sad if Xerri left. He's played as many games as CJ, and has been a better ruck in those games.

I also think that CJ is a limited footballer: an excellent mark; a wonky kick with a poor action; a poor jump at the centre bounces; and lacking in sideways mobility.
It's clear that we're punting on potential and I obviously defer to Brady but I personally don't know why we're bothering with him.
Until it became clear that CJ was not going to resign with Richmond (given the insane number of rucks they have on their list) the Richmond board was severely conflicted about his worth and potential.
If it's true that the Saints are interested in Xerri, I wonder what they see in him that so many posters here don't given he's played so few games?

PORT DEFENDER MAKES CALL ON TRADE INTEREST
Contracted Port Adelaide defender Tom Clurey is set to back himself in to reclaim his senior spot and not request a trade to a rival club.

Clurey, who has another two seasons to run on a heavily back-ended deal, played only two games after Round 9 this year after undergoing surgery for a broken jaw sustained against the Western Bulldogs.

Trent McKenzie replaced the 27-year-old the following week and maintained his place in the team, joining captain Tom Jonas and All-Australian Aliir Aliir as the Power’s first-choice tall backmen.

Three clubs – North Melbourne, St Kilda and Carlton – are believed to have shown preliminary interest in Clurey without seriously advancing discussions yet.

The Kangaroos’ inquiry followed veteran Robbie Tarrant’s shock defection to Richmond, while the Blues have settled on Western Bulldog Lewis Young to shore up their key defensive stocks.

Young, who has struggled for senior opportunities at the Bulldogs and was even used as a makeshift ruckmen in the finals, has requested a trade to Carlton.

Saints veterans Jake Carlisle and James Frawley

retired at season’s end, after Dylan Roberton ended his AFL career in March for health reasons.

But any potential suitors have baulked at the amount of money left on Clurey’s contract, on top of most clubs having limited spots left on their playing list.

Port Adelaide also told him he was a required player in his exit meeting, in the days following its preliminary final loss to the Bulldogs.

At 193cm, Clurey can lock down on an opponent but also averaged 2.5 intercept marks in his 11 matches this year, which took his career tally to 110.

On CCJ: where would he be taken in the ND?

Our Benny Jacobs trade with PA ended up being fair despite PA thoughts on the trade.

I’m curious if anyone would take him before 40…
The 4 years experience would push him higher than that.
Jumping years in development is valuable.
Total guess

I would be living the dream too if I was on the GC and was watching the copious amounts of early draft picks roll in and then straight back out the door because the organisation is a basket-case.

GC players are basically been overpaid to take a holiday.. just about all of their players careers start off fairly well and then turn to shit..

Get him in the Blue & White, attach him to the Bull or Cunners hip and let's transform him into the gun he was as a junior.

If it's BA & 19 for a 3rd rounder & salary dump then it's the same 'free swing' as McPherson anyways..

The Western Bulldogs’ first round draft pick is being sought by clubs involved in two different deals as a possible key to unlocking talks for Jordan Dawson and Callum Coleman-Jones.
The Dogs’ pick 17, which the club is keen to trade for multiple later draft picks that can secure them more ranking points to help cover a bid for star father-son prospect Sam Darcy than the pick 17 alone would draw, is being sought as a potential circuit breaker in talks for the trades of both Dawson and Coleman-Jones.

Under a trade scenario being canvassed on Tuesday, Adelaide would trade later picks to the Bulldogs for pick 17 but only on the proviso that the pick was sufficient to satisfy the Swans in an exchange for Dawson.
The Crows and Bulldogs were content with the arrangement, but Sydney rejected the deal as insufficient compensation for the player who had come third in their best and fairest.

Richmond and North Melbourne, meanwhile, have also begun discussions with the Bulldogs on a trade for Callum Coleman-Jones that would involve pick 17.

Under that scenario, the Dogs would improve their points position, Richmond would secure pick 17, and North would slide a few places in the draft.

The Tigers and North have also discussed whether Robbie Tarrant is tied into the trade for Coleman-Jones and picks. While Tarrant is a free agent and technically able to move to Richmond for nothing, his arrival as a free agent would dilute the compensation the Tigers would receive for losing their own free agent, Mabior Chol, to the Gold Coast.
