I'm sad about this. Xerri has busted a gut finding a pathway to the seniors, and we seem to have rolled it out for CCJ who has only played a few games and may have some attitude issues.

The selectors clearly know better, but I can see how the CCJ maybe deal might have got Xerri a bit offside.

I'd like to see him stay too. He has shown glimpses and may make it, but at this stage not enough to be our only long term option between Goldy and potentially Edwards in the ruck. It would have been irresponsible list management to rely only on him and not look at other options. To bring in CCJ, it would have been necessary to assure him (CCJ) that he would have opportunities in the ruck. This wouldn't mean that the job was his forever, he might get first crack, but if he didn't cut it and X was smashing it in the VFL, opportunities would come. Competition for spots is a good thing! If X really does want out (I haven't seen it worded that he does, only suggestions of a move being a possibility) and doesn't want to back himself to win a spot, then if a suitable trade is offered it probably happens, otherwise stay and fight for a spot!

Crows are going after Dogs' pick 17 which of course the Tigers want. Let's see if this gets their asses into gear or whether they remain delusional about 20

Backfiring badly for them if they miss out on the Dogs first. At this stage they've only got three list spots with one assigned to Tarrant, trading to conserve the Chol compo will end up being moot as they won't be able to use it. Not many options to shift these picks, might have to trade those mid seconds into 2022.

Do they still have that rule about needing to take as many players as you spend picks on draft points for NGA etc?
It was waived off last year but not sure if it was brought back for this year.

It's an interesting rule and I think it will factor heavily this year. How many players will WB actually want to take? They're a premiership contender so I doubt they want to free up a half dozen spots. Collingwood on the other hand might relish turfing that many.

EDIT: Specifically I'm thinking of Richmond's situation where they have a shitload of picks they want to trade. 38(40) is worth **** all points and they have another few picks around then anyway.

I wonder if Balmey will fly to NZ to see if he can straighten out this CCJ issue.....
Puma is already onboard maybe a new JEEP for CCJs mom & dad.....not in the cap of course.
Conflict of interest for Puma now according to giantroo

I'd expect they would. We've rejected their request for pick 20. Now the preliminaries are out of the way, we start doing some serious negotiating.

Yep this is like buying t-shirts in Bali....They go ridiculously high & we go ridiculously low but we both know it only gonna be $2.50.

Tigers by all accounts want the Dogs pick 17 a lot of the third round picks they likely wont use. Dogs would like some mid 20s picks to do better trades or build further points.

Time is our friend with the CCJ trade the longer it takes the more they sweat that someone will deal with the Dogs
