Few things I've heard...

- Clubs saying we are extremely unique in our approach to drafting/recruiting/trading & heavily data/analysis reliant. It means that once we have an idea of someones value, we have absolutely no wriggle room. Richmond are filthy because we will not budge on anything more then 40 as that's what our analysis has told us he is worth. It also makes it quite difficult for them to argue with us. It's 40 or PSD.

- Looking unlikely that Macpherson gets done because he just doesn't want to leave GC.

- Xerri not worth much but Saints want a back up ruck with a few years in the system.

Take it or leave it.
so its sounding like we'll have 1,20 and a pick in the 60s this year.

You wouldn't have thought he would leave to be a back up elsewhere....

GC has about 100 players on their list - must be at least one that wants to leave

I can see Luff having some mega excel spread sheet with every trade ever done, with every player stat, everything you could think of. He puts in CCJ's stats and out pops a comparison of every like player ever traded and what pick/player was involved. Bang - 40 it is. Take it or leave it. Aligns with what he said the other day about the value of the trade.

I bet other clubs would try the usual not data based response to which the reply would be numbers don't lie! (Well unless you have a good accountant!).

I'd love to see it!

This scene captures how the other clubs would respond when we say pick 40 it is... (yes I know in the movie this was an internal meeting) I can see oppo recruiters reacting like the 'old timers' here.... confused and frustrated and not understanding.

Could one of those Zoom calls be Brady telling him that on the proviso we get a deal done with the Tiges for CCJ we would be open to taking him at pick 1 in the PSD?

Balmey would be like the guy who says "who's Fabio?"

I don’t see it with Xerri. He might get there as a full time ruck but he’s done nothing that’s ever really jumped out at me. Pruess showed more imo. There’s a reason we’re going after CCJ. We wouldn’t be if we were confident in X. I know that’s harsh but it’s league footy.

Interesting mate I've been at odds on here over this before because I don't rate Xerri's forward nouse at all.

However he racks up solid VFL numbers and I was banking on the fact he's gone 4 years into the system in a slow-burn position so we saw something in him. Supported by the face we have contracted for next year.

If things have changed so be it but you're swapping out 1 circa 10 game 2017 ruckman for another one albeit with more bells and whistles. I was hoping we were adding to our young tall stocks not replacing them.

Xerri is a useful lug but he is not an AFL standard footballer and I would be very surprised if we offer him another contract. That being said trading him would be odd at this point as even with CJJ the depth he provides is important.

I would be keeping Xerri ahead of Big Tommy C. :stern look

He asked his agent to make some enquires around town.

Knows he is 3rd or 4th banana next year if he stays at North.

Out of interest does anyone know how many Bananas are needed before it is officially a Bunch of Bananas?

I don’t know and a grand question pondered. I will say if you’re the third or fourth banana , I then think you’re officially a bananamen

As I was saying yesterday, we better get at least pick 20-30 minimum for Xerri ;) - else he's a required player!

Most of you had pointed out;
1. 4 years in the system ( = CCJ)
2. 12 AFL Games ( 33% > than CCJ)
3. Contracted (vs uncontracted CCJ)
4. Finished second in the North VFL John Law Medal (take that Darcy Parish and your ANZAC medal!)
5. Ruck/Fwd (Same status was what CCJ is going to North for)

What else are we missing?!
Reality. We will be lucky to get a 3rd round pick for him

Good luck and hope he enjoys life with the Saints. He is down the pecking order and won't get many games next year imho.

If he wants out and we have the cap space to not care either way then it needs to be a reasonable return. We have no burning need to do a deal.

Saints pick #46 and a swap of their 2022 R2 for our 2022 R3 maybe.

#46 then on-traded for futures or as part of moving #20 or #38 (if we still hold it) up the order.

They need picks for their two NGA prospects in Windhager and Owens so I don't think they're going to give us any picks this year.

Luff/Brady: What is CCJ worth?

Tigers: Pick 20

Luff/Brady: No, and I will walk him to the PSD if you don't get it. I'll ask again what is CCJ worth?

* rinse repeat until FA deadline on Friday*

Tigers either cave or lose him for nothing in the PSD

At casting time -

Brady "obviously we need actors who resemble us. So Luffy - Jonah Hill for you mate."

Luff "Jonah Hill? The fat ****?"

Brady "he's not that fat mate"

Luff "Who's playing you?"

Brady "Brad Pitt"

Luff "ahhh.."

I wouldn't mind keeping him for depth, Edwards might be a few years away.

Coke? Aren't we a self-centred enough society as it is?

It couldn't be worse than what is happening now tho. Drug cartels marketing to the the US build their own infrastructure and act as quasi states but they are medieval in terms of brutality. None of that would happen if it (or any drug that isn't home grown pot) was legalised and taxed or even not taxed just otherwise regulated. Imagine getting a Dr's script for a weekends partying. LOL.
I need a script for three marijuanas
