He asked his agent to make some enquires around town.

Knows he is 3rd or 4th banana next year if he stays at North.

Out of interest does anyone know how many Bananas are needed before it is officially a Bunch of Bananas?

Four imo. Three feels light.

Whether it’s football or footy, the transfers/trade period is the biggest listenership of the year.

You only need to walk into a church to realise that hope is more important than actuality. Hope sells.
Barak Obama likes this.

I’m hearing Hindenburg from the Giants wants to come back home. Call me crazy but could we package Goldy and Dumont up for him?

If we don't rate Xerri and he knows it, there isn't much incentive for him continuing with us.

Personally I'd have him over Soup, but I think big Tom knows he's there as depth, so on that score he's probably the better option going forward.

I've seen this said a bit but it assumes Tristan has a large untapped potential for improvement because of his age. If he does then we should be keeping him.

But if we're only talking the here and now (and assuming Tristan has plateaued) - Campbell is a better player. Better forward, better clunk on his day and better statistically.

Tristan pulls good VFL numbers - so does Campbell.

Tommy is only 29 himself. In ruckman terms we're seeing with Hickey et al around the league that these guys can continue on and even improve into their 30s.

I'd have been keeping TC anyway but if Tristan goes I'd be signing his 1 year extension immediately after.

That's probably the discussion going on right now. It would be nice to keep the younger version that grew up as a fan of the club, but whether he is willing to be that backup for most of his career is something I don't know, I suspect no.

Right now i reckon Tommy is a better footballer. X may become a bonafide senior ruckman but he needs to improve. A lot. If X goes Tommy gets another year.

I don't think people are arguing that X is a much better footballer, tbh.
I know my view is they are relatively on par with TC marginally ahead & the advantage going to X purely on age, mongrel and scope for improvement.

I like Xerri as he has a bit of menace about him on field. To be honest though, both he and Campbell are poor AFL footballers and that's probably being kind. I'd prefer to keep Xerri due to his age and what he "might" become. Hard to blame him if he wants to leave though. He'd look at the current landscape and be aware that he's he's dropped in any pecking order over the last 6 months since we've brought in Edwards and Coleman-Jones. Coleman-Jones will ruck alongside Goldstein and Edwards will be cherry ripe to go in a year or 2 when Goldy finishes.

Campbell can be a warm body to fill out the 22 if were desperate.

Wonder why we're so scared to utter the same words.
Because we don't need to be publicly bombastic about it. It is the elephant in the room everyone knows about and I am sure it has been mentioned in private more than a few times.

TC provided great value off the field, everyone seems to love him, especially the young blokes and is apparently very intelligent with his footy brain. Right now I think he’s a good emergency ruck option. I think he’s a better AFL footballer now than Xerri, and his value off field may be more valuable to us if we get CCJ through the door than Xerri’s potential would be.

There must be different Bunchometers, or at least a sliding scale. For example, it's reasonable to imagine that 5 bananas would be called a bunch of bananas. But if you were handed 5 grapes on a stem, you'd be dirty if you were expecting a bunch of grapes :)
I believe 5 bananas are actually called a 'hand.'

I agree with you but it's interesting that both Collingwood and Adelaide make open reference to it but we treat it like we're Médecins Sans Frontières.

They did it for different reasons. After the crapshow last year and as one of the big clubs, Collingwood has to be public about it. Adelaide publicly reference it because they have done it before and I suspect the Dawson stuff is a lot more spiteful than our CCJ stuff.
