Just a question, where or how do we get the draft picks to complete your wish list ?
I thought they did a amazing job last year with nothing picking up Crouch , Highmore , Allison and Higgins but the lack of draft picks took its toll , having us to fill list spots with players who were really past there used by date - McKernan and Frawley.

This year they are hoping Ross departs so the get some more currency to get a player they need.

Ironically the team rebuilding at the same time as us looks like they are gonna win the flag. Just shows how important it is to nail your drafting

Helps when you get truckloads of early picks too...

Neither is Bing for Battle or any other dodgy player supporters want to offload , Bing is their marquee player, if we can't pay the price we probably won't get him. I'm tipping he'll re-sign and their won't be a trade fight.
Who said anything about Josh Battle? The Suns have a year to sign him.

If they don't they will trade at the end of next year.

Hhmmm yeah. We rebuild in a strange way. Never really went hard at the draft. Sort of did it half arsed
No, can't you read? We didn't have the picks. In the latter part of the naughties we traded out cause we were in the window, just as we were about to rebuild, the draft was compromised for years.
Melbourne kept stuffing up their early picks so AFL gives them pick 2 for Frawley and we help by giving them Petracca.

Really helps to understand the facts.

They have had a lot of access to the top end of drafts so they get hyped for that. Losing Cerra will make that a lot less of a selling point though. Serong looks a future star and they have been really unlucky with injury especially to the tall stocks. I think Darcy is a future star, Brayshaw and Young should be stars etc.
There is no guarantees that all will stay or reach their peak but you can see why people are seduced. We look like a bunch of ring ins and late picks with low profiles. King gets hyped like their kids but we haven't really got many of them. Clark and Coff types will be 23 next year and that new car smell has come off them and they are seen as GOPs by the larger footy community.
I think our list is underrated but apart from King and Steele we lack some top end and don't have a lot of obvious ones coming up.
Was there.

George was initially a half forward flanker but moved to full forward the week before against Footscray at the Western Oval. He proceeded to kick 9 goals and in doing so provided me with my most exciting experience as a fan to that date.

The next week against Collingwood at Moorabbin he kicked 8 however was overshadowed by Carmen who kicked 11 (think it was his first game back after a spell and first time in the white boots)

GY was my first fave and I sometimes got to say hello at training on a Tuesday or Thursday after school.

My duffle coat survives to this day although the 2 & the 7 disappeared many decades ago.

Youngy makes my top 10 all time Saints in 50 years of following them. Knew him reaonably well at the time. He opened the batting for Carlton in District cricket while he was playing footy with us. His opening batting partner was a mate of mine at work.

Saw the games you refer to. Actually saw every game he played. He was a star.

Alright ease up buddy

How much for Zac Bailey? And I like that #18 for the lions too.
battle, Ross and next years 2nd cor those two

Not sure it’s that easy when he has a year left on his contract. The club has rights as well and would be entitled to hold him to his contract.
Suns may just accept that he’s going anyway and opt to get more for him this year than next.

Having said that, I believe the Saints would be happier to get him next year and use this year to get a top draft pick. In other words encourage Ben to see out his contract. It’s what I would do, but what do I know?
