The big thing for me is that he can use the footy. Great disposal. Something we need more of.

On SM-G977B using BigFooty.com mobile app

yep this is the big attraction for me also he uses it well
Kent is a liability by foot
If Lipinski can get enough of into forward 50 his delivery will be a bonus
All of a sudden we have a side with Hill, Clarke, Sinclair, Coffield, Connolly, Billings all decent by foot ...,Lipinski adds to it abs improves us as long as he gets enough of it and could play a HFF role occasionally..

Yeah I don't think playing King as a genuine CHF is the go. I think the aim for the forward group should be to find a way to have Max and either Sharman/Membrey occupying space deep inside the 50, in a way that they can work together and not get in each other's way. Let Max draw the attention while the other one gets let off the chain a bit. Sort of dynamic that needs a full pre season of working together and experience playing together to understand the movement patterns of one another. King/Membrey/Sharman should play a lot of footy together though, so there's no reason they shouldn't form a really strong dynamic.
Cooper Sharman seems smart enough to understand it immediately. The way he's slotted into our forward line without even a preseason with the boys and assumed the vacant role is astounding. It'll take a bit longer for it to click with Max and Membrey though.

Lipinski is more like a glacial Brad Hill than Kent... really not what we need and we don’t have the right pick... if we get a pick in his range we should be taking it to the draft or chasing a player who actually fills a role we need.

FMD battle is a great user of the ball too and is much more versatile than Lipisnki, we’re pissing into the wind if we swap those two just because we can.

I'd rather a bunch of Sam Mitchell's than a bunch of Brad Hill's. If he's a good ball user and his only knock is being slow then sign him up. Good skills cancel out lack of speed.

Well realistically he can’t be worth that much anymore; 23 years old, played 11 games this year, doesn’t seem to be in their starting 22 automatically. He’s a fringe player, you get a 3rd round pick for him depending on their depth (a lot) and wanting to do a player a favour.

supposedly has the slows down time in traffic attributes of bont ;)

This week Lipisnki is behind Anthony Scott, Roarke Smith, Rhylee West, Mitch Hannan and probably a slew of other complete potatoes.. let that sink in for a minute.

🥔

Our deals from that trade period need to be looking in totality because of how many moving pieces there were.

Plus, there was a lot more going on behind the scenes with Bruce and the club being adamant he had to go. That needs to be considered when talking about his value as well.
What was this behind the scenes stuff with Bruce?

Why is Zak Jones out of contract..?

I do. Because we lost Carlisle for a big final and with Brown having retired mid-season, we didn’t have an adequate replacement, and got shown up by Lynch in the final as a result and we probably knew Jake was even less likely to get through this year. As proved to be the case.
I get the reason, but both he and his body were done - as was proven early on the piece. Surely they could have found anyone else?

I'd be all for the club laying low this trade period, take our first round pick to the draft and get rid of a bit of deadwood for some 3rd or 4th rounders and back in what we have for 2022.

Next year we trade heavily for Ben King even if it's overs, do what is necessary to set us up for 2023 and beyond.

Call it a gut feeling but those two were delivered by Mrs King to deliver us a premiership.

SPINE:

Howard
Battle (This could be temporary since Carlisle/Frawley have retired, may as well give him a crack there)
Steele
Marshall
King
King

I feel like a broken record advocating to do whatever it takes to get Ben in but I feel so strongly about it. More than likely I've just convinced myself it's the only way forward so I doubt there's any changing my mind lol.
Why don't pay overs and get King this Trade period??

Big ego and was ignoring instructions from Ratts during a game which cost us the win. The club wanted him gone.
Then why did the club say that he was going to play with us rd 1 the following year? Trade was done late looked like we wanted to keep him?

He's no good.

Doubt it. He’s their best/second best mid behind Kelly. Cogs is cooked or at least detrimental to their midfield balance.
If they sign him to the contract he wants they are going to blow there cap and they still have to find money for Taranto , Perryman and the younger guys who will be having a big jump in salary as well - Sam Taylor , Idun , Hill , Cumming , Buckley.
Keeping Kelly on his massive contract is going to hurt them in the long run - if it is not Hopper this year it will Taranto next year.
