Geeeez, you know it’s gonna be a quiet trade period when the main discussion revolves around the best position to play a guy who’s not on our list, and won’t be on our list for the foreseeable future (if at all).

*note - I would absolutely love to get Bing, I just can’t see how a real world trade would be possible
He will be a saint in 2023 no doubt

How's this for a trade:

Saints gives pick 9
gets Jordan De Goey

Melbourne gives Sam Weideman
gets Pick 9

Collingwood gives Jordan de Goey
gets Sam Weideman

And you could add pick swaps to get us a third round pick for the NGA boys.

Collingwood get absolutely shafted there, Weideman isn’t worth more than a third rounder

Leave Ben King alone this year... Not only will he cost the world but we need mids, and with pick 9 and the NGA boys should get them..

Next year though, go hard.

If we were to get Ladhams and Bing, what about playing Marshall down back as that big-bodied KPD we need (plus #2 ruck)?
IIRC we picked him up out of the VFL playing CHB.
No idea how good he was as a defender and still doesnt solve the issue of where Ladhams (#1 ruck) rests, but just a thought....

Absolute ripper of a bloke.
very good teacher of young men.

Do you know him personally?
Seems like a very good resume and I like that he’s also been a teacher.

If we want a centre half back we should target a CHB rather than a ruck and trying to turn our other ruck into a CHB

Personally I agree and dont think Ladhams is a good fit for our list.
I notice a "if he wants to come, get it done" kind of mentality amongst some posters, so my post is more just spit-balling on how to solve the forward line issue if these trades were to eventuate.
