If the club wants a player they will pick him regardless of what the wider community think their overall rating is.
But the club themselves could rate that player 15-25, but still feel pressured to take them early because of our KPF deficiency.

Pretty accurate and interesting comparisons. Erasmus is going to be hard to match as a forward, and in time play midfield minutes.I’ve been lucky enough to see a few of the boys we might grab a few times watching my nephew play colts and PSA etc the last couple of years. I’ve seen each of the guys below at least 4 times live, some more.
I say this because I’ve formed a view on the floor/ceiling comparisons that me and my brother have come up with.
With that, here’s my worthless opinion (floor/ceiling);
Erasmus - Blakely/Petracca
Amiss - Tony Notte/J Reiwoldt
Johnson - Dal Santo/Mundy
JVR - M.McGovern/Pavlich
Williams - Bandy/Lobb+
Hough - McManus/McLuggage
Dittmar - Tom Swift/Brock McLean
Motlop - Dahlhaus/Papley
Benning - Strnadica/Marshall
My nephew - Fyfe/Leigh Matthews
I’ve only listed those of likely interest to Freo at our picks and who I’ve seen a min 3 times.
If it were me I’d go Johnson, JVR with 6 & 8 and see what happens with 19 at the end of night 1.
I’d do this knowing that Erasmus will likely be very, very bloody good and hoping like hell he’s already gone by our pick or goes before the clowns up the road get their pick.
what has poor dittmar done to deserve this comparison

Only one missing is Bazzo, thoughts?
Except that JVR might not be there at 13? Or Erasmus, Johnson and Amiss.
It’s a gamble, GWS taken McCarthy before our pick and the we take Apeness.
A few clubs want Talls, Dees made sure Jackson and Pickett were off the table.
They didn’t just go best available or they would of taken Young.
On flip side Johnson - Del Santo/Mundywhat has poor dittmar done to deserve this comparison
I saw Bazzo quite a few times at PSA level for Guildford and if you were using your range of players they remind you of / could develop it would be somewhere between .....Polak / Rance ?I’ve only seen the Bazzo lad twice so won’t offer any thoughts other than to say he makes a very good first impression as a player.
It’s not something that comes about from our instigation. Only from GWS’s, and that presumably because they somehow conclude they can benefit by getting a better 2nd pick while still claiming their preferred first. If it was our idea there’s zero chance.30 percent is the baseline premium for trading up. And they have to price the risk of missing out on Andrew if that is the player they want.
If someone can point to an example of a win win trade even on points for a trade up into the top 5 when it's just picks I'd be very surprised.
I think a win win even points trade is possible, but it could only be in very specific circumstances where each side is effectively guaranteed results. E.g if we had picks 4 and 5 and they 2 and 10 we'd do it straight away because then they can get exactly who they want and do so we. With them trading for 6 and 8 they could end up in a situation where the top rated players left after the first 5 open picks are all inside mids, then what would have been the point?

I really think it will come down to Gold Coast and whether GWS are willing let Callaghan go to Gold Coast and whether GWS are comfortable picking up Gibcus /Andrew and being rewarded with a F2 and change in the process. I really doubt Adelaide have the draft capital to make it happen and even then there is no guarantee they get their preferred man because Gold Coast are dire need of key position backs and ruck/forward.It’s not something that comes about from our instigation. With live trading I find it difficult to believe that Club's actually know who's being taken at given picks outside of the top picks.Yes and it only works if the clubs know who the other clubs are taking. Which apparently they do for the first 10 or so at least

He will be picked by WC to replace McNuggetI don’t get the lack of love for Bazzo.
Swans win the flag with Bazzo was the best player on the team all year.
In SA game, he destroyed the SA tall forwards.
We have enough key backs and shouldn’t draft him but another club should look at him in the late first round.
Basso would be great to get, but we don’t have enough spare list spaces.I don’t get the lack of love for Bazzo.

Sorry I don’t get how Bailey Banfield on the rookie list in any way impacts our ability to select Bazzo.Basso would be great to get, but we don’t have enough spare list spaces.
Bailey Banfield should not have been resigned (if at all) until after the trade period.
Now we will have to let a number of possible guns go elsewhere.
