It makes our hand much stronger than yours in the scenario you gave.

Pick 5 was overs. No doubt we could have done better. Almost cancels out the win in getting Rankine to commit to coming home. We got 1 gun when could have had 2 this year.
Not if you keep him informed obviously he’d have to be happy with it.
I agree pick 5 was overs but that wasn’t what we were arguing about

1- Berry
2- Borlase cat b

4- Cook
5- Crouch
6- Dawson

11- Hately
12- Himmelberg
13- Jones
14- Keays
15- Laird
16- McAdam
17- McAsey
18- McHenry
19 - Michallaney
20- Milera

25- O’Brien
26- Parnell rookie
27 - Pedlar
28 - Rachele
29 - Rankine
30- Schoenberg
31- Sholl
32- Sloane
33- Smith
34- Soligo

37- Thilthorpe
38- Walker
39 - Worrell

So we have now 39 Players
35 Senior
2 Cat A Rookies
2 Cat B Rookies

So looks like one more pick. Bet its Turner. Then Seeds and McPherson in the Rookie draft.
? 39+Turner, Seed and Macpherson = 42.
Two picks

Hopefully one of Ryan or Barnett might still be on the board at around 24/25 and we could trade in with our future second.

Not fussed if they aren't or what, pretty happy with what we might be able to do next year and what we've got in Rankine and MM and looks like there could be some good rookie list options as well.

Who gives a s**t if we end up with pick 50 or pick 70 after matching the bid, it's an irrelevant junk pick either way

Yeah, I'm not getting the people saying Sydney bid to screw us. He went within the range he was expected to.

If a bid came in slightly later it makes very little difference to the late picks we get back.

We've done pretty well. Swapped out our '22 second rounder for North's '23 second rounder then got Michalanney, a first round rated prospect for junk picks.

yep feel like there couldn't be a worse spot for him.
Let's hope he's had enough of old Ross within 2 years...

Just in time to replace Wines at Port? When a player comes back they are usually going to chose the team they supported - and in his interview the other week he said he was a “big Port fan”.

2 months back i put a rumour on here that MM would be bid on at 16. well 16 went to 17 because of rowston unexpected. everyone laughed but it proved correct
