PC = personal computerI imagine you meant 'best' rather than 'fret' - post was about dermie's commentary not his playing career - zero to do with "pc" whatever that was about
Happy to back the club's call on Stocker. This is a furphy leaked out to disguise a weak decision - and is continually perpetuated by people who have no idea on this board.
Stocker's fitness levels prior to his injury were career best. He had a serious injury which hampered his fitness through the remainder season - many other players (ie McGovern, Williams, Martin, Cuningham ...) all suffered from similar fates this year ... all wrapped in kid gloves. All still on the list.
Your views on Stocker's delisting have been made plain across multiple posts and in several threads. This is a furphy leaked out to disguise a weak decision - and is continually perpetuated by people who have no idea on this board.

I agree with you, because if he was not fit most of the time like others on here have been saying then how do they account for him playing 17 games in 2021. It comes across more like a political decision by the club in that he may not have got on with the other players, but his ability to play the game has been shot down so much that it just doesn`t seem to ring true and he did have injuries this year so they hindered his progress, and like you said above other injured players have been given more leeway as far as their fitness goes and also with their efforts to get the best out of themselves....something more to all this I feel. This is a furphy leaked out to disguise a weak decision - and is continually perpetuated by people who have no idea on this board.

However, Stocker himself described those claims as “rubbish”, suggesting he has the ability to evolve into a full-time midfielder, a position the Blues were reluctant to play him.
“The notion that I’m not fit enough to play AFL football is rubbish, I know I can run, I ran a 6.30 two-kilometre in pre-season which is the equivalent of what most other midfielders are running as well,” he added.

Love Elijah Hewett. Not sure he gets it enough to get picked at 10 but a lot of upsidePhillipou, Hewett or Humprey for me
I suspect JHF had no choice to pretend he'd be happy to be drafted by North and his insolence and planned ask to return to Port end of his first year was always on the cards. As the touted number 1 he couldn't say not interested to being drafted by a VIC club as that'd become a super media storm. He'd also give up his NAB portfolio as being the number 1 pick and other benefits... just a manipulative little sh## who actually will unfortunately show his stuff for real next year. You watch JHF go in Ports environment, North were an absolute basketcase this year wherever you looked inside the club on and off the ground.

I want half forwards, more than I want wings.
You can't rely on two players to kick 75% of your score every week.

genuinely happy to not draft pinch-hitters......Do Hayes/Busslinger show any signs of potentially pinch hitting as forwards?
I'm not across it this year, and even at the best of times I'm not much more than the armchairiest of draft watchers.Any draftees you have your eye on?
A 3rd fast leading/marking target like a Brad Pierce or Mark LeCras - would give our forward line a lift and another avenue of attack. Martin played deep might be able to play that role.I want half forwards, more than I want wings.

I see a bit of Caleb Serong about him not just in attributes but also amazing U17 year and somewhat disappointing U18 year. Apparently had a few injuries that may have impacted himLove Elijah Hewett. Not sure he gets it enough to get picked at 10 but a lot of upside

I think as a list, we have potential for top 4 levels of performance in every position (if not AFL levels already) except on the forward flank. Durdin shapes as either/or wing or pocket; either he's upfield delivering, or he's downfield roving. He's still developing, but doing both within a game is a struggle, and he's not a natural accumulator. Motlop looks like a mid without fitness and a bit of goalsense than a flanker, and doesn't seem to have crazy speed. Cuningham needs to get on the park, and his teammates need to trust him and look for him.
At present, if our opposition shut down one of Charlie or Harry, we're done. We need someone else next year to step up and kick 20-30+ goals in addition to what we're already doing, as opposed to someone who's already kicking 15 to improve to 25.
Sounds good to me - make it so number oneYep.
That's why i would love to trade up to get Sheezel. But that nearly certainly won't happen because North love him too.
Then i would be super happy to wait it out with Pick 10 and hope for Phillipou, who is at least a big chance to be there then. And if he's not, then we might look at trading back a bit for other likely HF goalkicking types.
A goalkicking medium forward who also helps in linkup and ball movement is what our Team needs most. Martin is capable in fits and spurts, and is especially ok in big games, but i don't see him playing long into his 30's, and could be replaced immediately by Sheezel and pretty soon by Phillipou.
