Maynard has re-signed, Moore and Jordy are still chances to opt for free agency.
Moore is not going anywhere. Especially not getting his childhood dream of vice captain of the club he loves.

I was hoping Burgoyne was on CFC's draft radar last year, unfortunately not but Anthony Munkara is looking likely to be an exceptional talent...190 cm, raw pace, exceptionally skillful on both sides of the body and loves a goal!

That's better!

Could be wrong, but I think it has to be a seriously big contract to get band 1.

Depending on secret sauce.

Pies languishing near the bottom of the ladder for potentially a couple of years, and having lost first-rounders on Scharenberg, Freeman, Treloar x 2, Beams x 2 and Stephenson might somehow work in our favour.

Daniher was band 1 and think was what 3 years x 600k?
I think if that's true, JDG would get offered that by someone and get band 1. Not sure on the figures, but I read that some are pissed off as a dodgy deal was done between Bris and Ess. The contract was made to be big enough per year to get them band 1 and then later the contract was extended to reduce the per year amount. A bit like what we did with Luke Ball, but to rort the compo rather than the draft.

Yeah, i do remember clubs looking at Daniher's extension and thinking wtf.

AFL make your compo what they want it to be lol Who knows how it works. We'll have to wait and see how that plays out, if he leaves and if so if a club comes with a good offer enough to get compo. If its not enough, then force them to do a trade.

Lemmey #36

Just had a quick watch. Not a great deal to write home to be honest.

Norwood dominated time in possession so there weren’t very clear entries to Lemmey who was playing fairly deep FF or CHF.

A couple of good moments. +/- 30 secs.

1.00hr - Nice lead mark up to just outside 50m. Bullet pass to a leading forward in a congested forward line.

2.13hr - Nice lead up and separation to mark about 35-40m out, fairly straight in front. Booming perfectly straight goal that went through post height. That kicking action is sublime.

2.36hr - Nice lead up in the forward 50 in front and leap but the ball just slipped through his fingertips.

He looks super light out there which is to be expected, but it was still interesting to watch his game style.

Definitely more of a lead up forward (ala Ben King or Daniher) than a pure contested style. Also seems to lope around (like Daniher) too, but has footy smarts and forward craft to lose his man.

That makes for horrible reading… you can probably add in Aish, who cost us 2 x second rounders.

It really is amazing that Hine still has a job IMO.

Hine wouldn’t have had much say in Beams x 2.
Stephenson’s immaturity may have been scoutable but he was a polite kid who loved his footy and to that point hadn’t been in trouble.
Treloar we slightly overpaid for but was very serviceable until injury got him.
Scharenberg did two knees, can’t predict that.
Freeman I thought was a dud pick at the time, but obviously injuries prevented him ever having a career.

Not a heap Hine did wrong. Give him back the Beams picks, and some more luck with players getting injured and it could have been a completely different story.

Beams, Stephenson, and let’s not forget Murray. All questionable characters and no longer at the club. All high cost and we probably need to get better at identifying their personalities

But when you scratch below the first round pick surface, there's not much he did right either. We've drafted really unsuccessfully over the last decade.

3 years @ $750k got the bombers band 1 for Daniher. It doesn’t have to be a ludicrous amount.
