Darcy "Carey" Fogarty.
This is his ceiling, wowee.
I still think Keays is underrated .....his ability to extricate himself from tight situations, set up good plays .....IMO he can be talked in the same circle as Sloane ....both similar, effort based, players
You mean, dropping him because he was an unfit, lazy, SOB who failed to perform time & time again, because he was too unfit to do so?We spent the first few years of Fogarty's career stuffing him around, dropping him with a hair trigger, changing his role for no reason.
We stopped doing all that s**t, backed him in after a lean period and he got the confidence to show his full potential at the highest level. In addition to extra experience at AFL level that's what led to the turnaround.
You mean, dropping him because he was an unfit, lazy, SOB who failed to perform time & time again, because he was too unfit to do so?
You mean, playing him in other positions in an attempt to teach him the work rate required, and how to get more involved with the game, because he was failing so spectacularly in the forward line (because he was an unfit, lazy, SOB)?
What made a difference was the arrival of Burgess, the awareness that he was running out of chances, and seeing the psychologist (to lift his confidence). Primarily, the work Burgess did in improving his fitness/weight/work rate issues.
Who said his fitness work was all off-season?He turned his form around in the middle of the season, well after any off season fitness work
Nope... it's a gradual process, which took him months. He was still unfit at the start of the season, but by mid-season he was finally where he should have been 3 years ago.You don't go from unfit to fit in the space of 2-3 weeks
As George said who I assume you have on ignore.Nope... it's a gradual process, which took him months. He was still unfit at the start of the season, but by mid-season he was finally where he should have been 3 years ago.
So if he was unfit at the start of the season, and fit mid season, you are indeed suggesting he got fit within about 4 weeks.Nope... it's a gradual process, which took him months. He was still unfit at the start of the season, but by mid-season he was finally where he should have been 3 years ago.
Especially when there are news reports of the extra work he was doing in the previous preseason. As George said who I assume you have on ignore.
You have absolutely no way of knowing that.
Not just that he was lazy and unfit, but that he was lazy and unfit as recently as the start of the most recent seasonEspecially when there are news reports of the extra work he was doing in the previous preseason.
It’s clear he’s come good with experience, Rahillys coaching and confidence and self belief which came from the course he and TT did.
Yes obviously he got fitter as all young footballers do with more preseasons, plus he is a big lad.
To suggest he was a lazy arse is an insult and I’d love Vader to say that to Fogs face.
An SOB?? I love The Velvet Fog.You mean, dropping him because he was an unfit, lazy, SOB who failed to perform time & time again, because he was too unfit to do so?

A quick google search shows him being talked up as being fit, doing PBs etc in 19 and 21.Especially when there are news reports of the extra work he was doing in the previous preseason.

Fog didn't turn his game around because of fitness. So if he was unfit at the start of the season, and fit mid season, you are indeed suggesting he got fit within about 4 weeks.
I don't think that's possible
Yes, he was poorly coached, mismanaged and down on confidence as a result.Fog didn't turn his game around because of fitness.
Fog turned his game around as he played smarter after a good chat to our coaches & Tex.
Classic VaderismNot just that he was lazy and unfit, but that he was lazy and unfit as recently as the start of the most recent season
It’s all in the thread old boy
He started working on his fitness once Burgess arrived. Years late. He finally started to see the benefits of Burgess' training program from mid-season onwards.
Darcy was drafted in 2017, so what you’re saying is that in 2019 after 2 preseasons he should have had the fitness base that allowed him to excel as a key forward.Nope... it's a gradual process, which took him months. He was still unfit at the start of the season, but by mid-season he was finally where he should have been 3 years ago.
If you are going to start calling our players SOBs… maybe it’s time for you to move on.You mean, dropping him because he was an unfit, lazy, SOB who failed to perform time & time again, because he was too unfit to do so?
