AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
I think we shouldn't have beaten hawthorn. We would have had pick 3 instead of gws and had a choice. Gws don't need more mids so Callaghan will likely end up leaving.just posing the question. Should we have thrown the kitchen sink at GWS last year for pick 2 (that they got from Collingwood) to have been able to select Fin Callaghan and as such we forgo having Rachele
Purely from a list perspective, would it have been a play we should have gone all in for?
No chance. If he leaves he will go to Port, you can be sure of it.Heeeeeerrreeeee comes JHF
Will be interesting. Already contacted for 2023, and will never be at crows, but for the next few years I can see North having PSD position and therefore hold the whip hand with negotiation.Heeeeeerrreeeee comes JHF
How substantial? A mill a year for 10 years? No chance. If he leaves he will go to Port, you can be sure of it.
I only hope that if he does want to come to SA, we put in an offer that is substantial, both in terms of trade to North and in terms of $$$ for JHF. Hopefully both drive up the cost for Port.
I suspect that it will end up being Georgiadis to WC, JHF to Port and picks swapped so North end up with multiple 1st round picks.

He most likely will go to powaa if he comes back to SA but I wouldn't be surprised if he goes to another Vic club or even up north to Sydney or Brisbane. He is limiting his options only coming back here.
JHF is the exact type of player (big, strong, talented, not slow) that our midfield needs in 5 years time. Could be the difference between being a good side and a great side.
Mad Freo/Fyfe fan....Mundy/Fyfe replacement. He most likely will go to powaa if he comes back to SA but I wouldn't be surprised if he goes to another Vic club or even up north either Sydney or Brisbane way. He is limiting his options only coming back here.
Absolutely ridiculous! It's Rankine and Luko all over again. JHF may end up elite, but it's not a certainty and a long way off.How substantial? A mill a year for 10 years?
Tom Green is the sort of player I would be targetting. Highly unlikely to come here but he's exactly what we need.Absolutely ridiculous! It's Rankine and Luko all over again. JHF may end up elite, but it's not a certainty and a long way off.
I'm very happy that North knocked back our ridiculous offer at the draft.
We should certainly draft best available at our pick, but the best way to get an elite is to trade for one. Of course, it's easier to say this than to do it. If we're going to throw a lot of money, it should be at a proven elite player, such as we were reported to have done for Dusty and Jeremy Cameron.
Why not go to the National draft and draft West Adelaide's Harry Barnett and develop a young ruckman from the get go if we're not bringing in a mature age ruckman?Max Ramsden. Sounds promising.
NAB League Player Focus: Max Ramsden (Sandringham Dragons)
Sandringham Dragons ruck Max Ramsden has shot into mid-season draft contention, and had his best NAB League outing yet in Round 4.central.rookieme.com

lol this Georgiadis rumour is made up, surprised it still gets trotted outNo chance. If he leaves he will go to Port, you can be sure of it.

That it may be, but I like itlol this Georgiadis rumour is made up, surprised it still gets trotted out
young WA key forward back to home state will be a rumour forever and always. Georgiades, LMac etclol this Georgiadis rumour is made up, surprised it still gets trotted out
Not really he's still in the Oakleigh Chargers program whether he's 18 or 19. Worth remembering this is his first year in the NAB League as an overager previously the hardest level he'd played was school footy for Melbourne Grammar.True.
Although Max is only 19. One year closer to having the strength in the body to compete at AFL level. Saves a draft pick too.

From what I've read of Culley he suits the game plan we are trying to run with, skills with a bit of aggression. Not really he's still in the Oakleigh Chargers program whether he's 18 or 19. If we're looking at Ramsden we should also be looking at another overager the Murray Bushrangers highly athletic ruck prospect Toby Murray who has also impressed at NAB League this year as well as in the Young Guns vs Vic Metro game on the weekend.
Jai Culley is probably the overager best suited to our needs being a big bodied midfielder/forward with great burst speed and a booming kick.....everything we'd hoped Hardly would deliver.
Same. Unfortunately, our midfield is diabolical. There's no quick fix, and I can't see Lairdy being there in a flag winning side for us. He's one of few who have currency on the market. We need to draft first round mids, but we could also do with another top 10 pick KPF.

If RT becomes our ruck, our forward line is also looking diabolical
Are we a good chance to get him (Jai Culley) in the mid-season?Not really he's still in the Oakleigh Chargers program whether he's 18 or 19. Worth remembering this is his first year in the NAB League as an overager previously the hardest level he'd played was school footy for Melbourne Grammar.

Likely gone before our pick I'd think. Are we a good chance to get him (Jai Culley) in the mid-season?
Damn - just read up on his current performance and style, does sound like he would be what we are looking for in the midfieldLikely gone before our pick I'd think.
that's of course if we put Sloane or Seedsman on the LTI list.
