Pretty much. Crouch could barely seem to get out of a jog this year. Footage of him repeatedly being run down by more mobile opposition is going to make it hard for him to find a suitor imo. Maybe he'll get picked up as a depth player but nobody will pay a premium for that.

List spots are the issue. Brown leaving gets us a spot for Rankine, Frampton and Rowe leaving get Murray and Strachan upgraded from rookies. We will hopefully have a top 30 pick and Michalanney to pick up this year, so need 2 more spots. Seedsman to the rookie draft/ retiring makes sense, but one of Mrouch, Sholl and McAsey needs to be traded out also. But once we have one of those three leaving, we don't need the others to and we might as well keep them for what we would get.

I'm not sure strachan gets kept, I think that's the one that is dependent on someone else going

At that point, we can just change the designation of Murray and Strachan, because you can have have 38 main list and 4 rookies, if you want. We lose the salary cap savings but we're unlikely to be at our salary cap limit anyway.

The Frampton trade gets us the spot for Rankine and we don't HAVE to do anything else at that point - though that's not ideal, obviously.

I haven't heard any rumours of Strachan going and he's in contract, so it looks like we keep him.

I'm surprised no one has enquired, he's good enough to be used at AFK level, at least as a second ruck. I'd keep him for the same reason, but we need to get a young ruck on the list.

I'd do a straight swap of McAsey for Ratagolea, only to watch McAsey become elite at Geelong and form the best KPD duo with DeKnoning for the next 10 years.

Those numbers don't work!

Brown leaving gets us to 44 players but 2 spare on the senior list (36/6/2). So if we need 5 senior list spots we need 3 to go on top of Brown: Frampton, Rowe and Mrouch/ McAsey/ Sholl.
