Don’t backtrack now and come up with a useless cliche like that.
And you are still looking back not forward, try and anticipate when the game is going.

You still haven’t answered the question how you are financing our Uber mid ?

I don't need to, seeing you've made up a scenario out of thin air instead of dealing with my comments. I just said it was barely justifiable providing you hit a top-5 mid.

I think it's very safe to say that "rucks being midfielders" is not where the game is going and is just a trap for clubs. After all, this isn't a new thought and teams have been chasing it for a decade +. The evidence has said this isn't it seeing it's the clubs that are looking for serviceable options that are winning flags, and it doesn't match up statistically compared to the cost.

Looking back tells you how the game won't develop. If you want my bet on how ruck will change in the next 10 years? They'll be treated like running backs in the NFL where the market will bottom out on them and it will start becoming common that the top tier rucks leave clubs because the team in question doesn't want to pay for them.

Your mother must be very proud .....an education wasted

For the benefit of your education ....De Konings numbers improved even more after this article, dominating games
A million $ Contract fanciful .....let's see

So, what makes De Koning so good?

On Sunday night, Champion Data notes the 204cm ruck won first possession 15 times after stoppages. It was the most of anyone across the weekend, three clear of Brisbane's Lachie Neale and five ahead of his captain Patrick Cripps.

Seven of those 15 first possessions were from centre-bounce, tied with Sydney midfielder James Rowbottom as the most across the weekend. His 11 clearances were joint-most across the entire round of football, while his six centre-bounce clearances stood alone as the most.

Essentially, while De Koning isn't a dominant tap ruck in the traditional sense, he is now among the League's best modern ruck-midfielders and provides the Blues with yet another onballer that follows up and covers the ground.

Well he was matched up on a 36 year Todd Goldstein who is flat out getting up to jog/trot speed these days..

All I see is a fluff piece by the AFL website.

I'm learning extremely quickly why people consider you the dunce of the Adelaide forum.

Your opinions are quality reading, that is before you change them multiple times. Fresh air must be in short supply in your neck of the woods.

Hadn’t seen the article it but pretty well sums up my opinion and stats indicating where the game is headed .
Only time will tell but all pie in the sky, we won’t be able to attract him here anyway.
It sounds like a formality TDK re-signs with CARL .....but it'll cost them

Go check the stats after this match then, if you're not convinced ......then again, your preference is for BOG ave players, and you would never have identified TDK as a potential top ruck :p

Yes Bicks you keep putting up good suggestions for rucks for Crows and each time hope we add one or 2 of these suggestions or any potential rucks .
Instead we have a multitude of HBF etc type and now stuck with ROB and no-one really and nothing on horizon .
Regarding TDK why would he want to come here for when could join hiis Brother at Geelong who desperate for rucks as well, even though they have some with some potential long term.

It's not a formality until he has signed.

He will be getting plenty of contract offers & doubt the Blues will be the highest.

I don't need to go check anything, no way any ruckman is worth anything like the $1.5 million as was originally suggested and with TDK the chance of him coming to the Crows and Adelaide the city are zero.

And if TDK is as wonderful as you say why was Mark Pittonet still getting games?

Round 16 injured
Rounds 20-24 injured
Round 25 starting sub otherwise Pittonet doesn’t get a sniff.
The rounds 11-17 with 80% CBA’s is the indication of what’s to come , blew the games apart.

No way you or anybody else will ever convince me any ruckman is that big a difference maker that they're worth close to $1.5 Million of our salary cap.

And I have absolutely no doubt about that.
Just answering your question as to why Pittonet was still getting games .

For clarity I was stating that amount over 5-6 year contract p/a starting season 2026.

100%. could have been anything .
Saw him 3 times a week for 2 years, lunacy was his issue.

Ever bother to look up his Goal kicking average in AFL ?
IIRC Jacovich's career ave was close to 4 goals a game .....just an amazing footballer

So, he's played six good games?

Wow, you would have loved Adrian McAdam.
You'll never make an AFL recruiter ;)

6 good games will have you racing up Draft Boards ....will get you a 5+year Contract in the AFL

Injuries, and motivation (insert Stringer) can impact ....however it's an indication of career trajectory

Don't tell me you haven't watched a player after 6 good games and said WOW .....throw everything at keeping him ....because that would be a lie

He was a Rachele before Rachele with better sideways movement who played probably 8 kg too heavy.
Wasted his time at Woodville should have had an extra 2 years VFL for sure.
Think Mods kicked about 400 for us where Jaka kicked about 200 at a better avge about 4 in Melb.

Liked a good time too much but mercurial for sure.
Might have been a bit before but wouldn’t mind cleanhands opinion of him to try and lay a glove on.

He was a genuine Full Forward as opposed to Rachele, similar thick set. We'll see how Tyler Welsh goes, but maybe similar to him? Had two seasons at Woodville, including kicking his 100th goal in Woodville's last ever game against West Torrens at Adelaide Oval in 1990. A junior in the WAFL with South Fremantle, he started his league career there and ended up playing footy in outback WA and Darwin for a couple of years before arriving in the SANFL. That transition back to high level footy would've helped him have an immediate impact with Melbourne. He has the equal record with John Coleman of being the fastest VFL/AFL player to kick 100 goals, having passed the mark in his 21st game.

Never had the Ablett snr aerial attributes but very powerful at ground level and off the market speed, strong thru the hips, took small steps allowed him to change direction easily, was good for the game, didn’t take things too seriously

Tyler a good comparison actually, exciting times ahead perhaps.
