I'll be kinda surprised if we haven't had a decent go at signing Gunston for a couple years.
We haven't been linked to him in any of the recent trade news reports.
But I would have thought that our forward line could benefit from a tall with premiership credentials. He wouldn't cost any picks as a free agent. The one thing we have is a lot of is cap space, so we could make a convincing short term proposal to top up his super.
In my mind he would've been a no brainer.

Yep clarko would have surely made a call to Gunston

Still out of contract - lions apparently keen but if he wants to stay in Vic then we should have a few years contract on the table for him

If you agree why suggest Logue and Maynard?
We can't get the likes of King and McKay because they are well paid by their current clubs, don't want to leave (maybe) and don't want to come to North Melbourne (almost certainly). They are also contracted so even if that wasn't the case their clubs don't have to let them go.

Just reading the Tea leaves a bit.
If the AFL gives us two extra rookie list spots.
I can see us bringing in 5 senior players and taking three in the draft. (ideally 1,19,Cooper)
I think we get 4 across the line in the trade period, 3 in the draft, and leave one list spot open for a couple of blokes to train with us over the summer and fight out for the last spot.
Clarko is after experience. You wont get that in the draft.
Obviously its a guess at this stage.
But I reckon that is what we are headed for.
