I'd never heard of Jack Magin before, not sure if that's how you spell his name and I've never seen him play but just heard him speak on SEN and he sounds exactly the type of person we should be taking with one of the 2 additional rookie spots we had. He spoke about working hard as a VFL player to be ready at all times if you get an opportunity. Professionalism, finding ways to be a part of the team and supporting the team when you're not playing, leadership and making the most of opportunities.

Jack Madgen = The Szubanski

He'd be a great get. Sadly for Ratten, a senior assistant role is his ceiling now. He's been treated quite poorly by both Carlton and St Kilda.

He must look at an arseclown like Brad Scotts and shake his head - a decade at North and then walked into a role at * on the back of almost zero process.
‘Almost zero process’ that’s a stretch 🙄

definitely a good pro and seems like a good bloke and all but legitimately one of the worst medium defenders in the league over the last 2-3 years. he's an atrocious footballer at AFL level

Think we need to bed down a strong football program before we start trying to rehab players not thriving under triple premiership coaching panels.
I kind of agree with what you are saying but not sure we have the luxury to pick and choose when we stockpile talent. Especially talent that comes for no trade or draft capital.

As I said never heard of him before but bringing in a guy that can't play but can teach the players how to want it and how to conduct themselves while waiting for an opportunity is an improvement on some of the players we have that can't play and don't seem to care. IMO what our 2 extra list spots should be for. Sure we can bring in a couple of plonkers that can plug a hole if we have a horror run of injuries but we already have average players that can kind of play and fill a need. Why replace them with more of the same?

Not saying Madgin or whatever his name is should be our guy but I'd be picking people that can drive the group over list cloggers that are there to milk every last dollar out of an AFL opportunity

wish we could combine the attitude of Stocker and the talent of Stack. we'd have the perfect footballer...

Stacker
Wasn’t there issues with stockers work ethic

Jeez the lack of defensive run and disposal doesn’t fill me with positive vibes, the strengths must be very good
That’s the problem with You Tube highlights, everyone’s getting so excited because he’s quick but they don’t see his deficiencies until of course when we draft him and they’ll be whinging every week that opposition players run off him because he doesn’t run both ways.

i dont know if its even this. he has the most underwhelming youtube highlights ive ever seen from a potential top 5 pick. i dont get it at all. it must be a stats based thing more than anything.
