So we’re building the fence after we trade pick 3 for pick 4?
I hope we shut the bloomin gate after that, might stop his Royal Rawlingship from sinking #2 into #7 just for the lols

From what I gather, Essendon will be open to trading out 23 for our 40 and 43 now that the Davey kids are nominated.

Sounds good, except for the rumours floating around of swapping our 3 for Essendon's 4.

So perhaps the deal to expect will be:

3, 40, 43 <> 4, 23

Surely we can get the deal done without the 3 <> 4 swap?

You mean 22

We already have 23

So that would give us 2,4,22,23 and cooper

5 picks which would require us to delist 1 player to rookie list

We’re not trading out 3 unless we get into next years first round. And if they want to get into 3 then it can only be to beat us to the player we want so they can pay up a lot more than a slightly disjointed pick swap.

Unless of course we can then dangle 22 and 23 to get another 1st rounder next year...

But then can we even still pick Cooper? or will just go into deficit next year? (not up to speed on what impact that has on our 2023 hand).

That's so shit for us. Lump them with the 2 picks in the 20s and be done with it.

Why in Zuess' butt hole would we give one of our mortal enemies access to a top 4 talent in Sheezel or Wardlaw for a pickswap involving a player ultimately outside that talent bracket. Plain insanity.

Our 2023 pick goes backwards.
If Cooper is bid on in the second round our second rounder goes backwards next year.
As we don't have a second rounder it applies to our third rounder.
Very little penalty imo. Not much to risk.

I agree - I'm just trying to place the rumour in something theoretically viable

- rather than the 'good faith' bait of a straight swap of 3 and 4.

But then again...with Rawling's at the helm...

If Rawlings knows, and I mean knows for certain who Essendon will pick and it is not our guy, it makes no difference.

The mid-20s pick could mean 2 KPPs decent come in with Cooper and the top 5s (provided we have another delistee).

I'm not sure why * would do the trade if it was for someone we are not taking anyway.
No point. It won't happen.
GWS traded with us as they thought us or WC would take Cadman. Not the same scenario really.

We can assume it's not Tsatsas - because if it was they'd get him at 5 without spending a penny. It will be either Sheezel or Wardlaw - probably the latter.
