Any interest in Grundy?

I’m warming to solving a huge long term issue for us and gaining a decent pick off the pies for our time.

Rumour of them wanting to pay $300k of his salary, so $700k for us is perfectly acceptable to me.

5 steps to competitiveness:

65 > Collingwood > Grundy + ‘23 R1
1 + 2023 R2 > GC > 5,8,33,43,51
Scott > Cats > 2023 R2
2023 R2 (cats)+33,43,51 > Bris > 14
2023 R4 > Eagles > Rioli Jr

Add in picks 11,19 as priority and all of a sudden we have; 5,8,11,14,19,55 to pick from.

5> Sheezel
8> Cadman
11>Busslinger
14> Keeler
19> Cowan
~40> Harvey

+ Grundy, Rioli and Gunston

2023 Round 1 v GC Sunday March 23@ 4:40Pm

B: McDonald - McKay - Corr
HB: Perez - Busslinger - Cowan
C: Goater - Davies-Uniake - Thomas
HF: Gunston - Cadman - Zurhaar
F: Curtis - Larkey - Simpkin
R: Grundy - Cunnington - Jason
I/C: Powell Phillips Sleevo Goldstein
Sub: Rioli Jr
Where do we sign

Can I just point out (without particularly targeting you Kangaroos techno )
Pick 2 is 2500 points and we have asked for 3000 in help (of that point which has been inferred), which leaves about pick 35-37
The more I look at it, the less Pick 2 is on the table, most likely it will be picks 19 for a couple of years (~1800 points) plus some change
Last i heard we asked for 6000 points.

Looks a click bait question …

But it would be disappointing to lose Zurharr

Besides …if he’s going to leave surely would be back home to WA.

Nobels gone, hence Wtf go to another VIC side ? ( unless the sheets are material $)

CZ for pick 9?
Where do we sign. That would be amazing and we could get someone like Hewitt for that pick.

Yep = priority 2, 8, 18 this year and 19 next year, plus all our normal picks..
So the Suns got 1 & 19 in that draft, commonly assumed to help them with retention by picking 1&2 best kids… yeah I’m still skeptical we will get anything like that…
Getting pick one is the majority of that

From the herald sun.

The Hawks hope to keep Luke Breust but might have to offer him an extension past 2023 while Liam Shiels has been linked to North Melbourne. A decision from Jack Gunston about his playing future as a free agent has been pushed back because of the passing of father with the Hawks hopeful of keeping him but clubs including Brisbane circling

Bloody love Breust for 2 years. I would almost offer him 3.

It’s being discussed as if it would actually be offered

It’s a fantasy 0 chance of happening
Nah. Its being used as a reference point for the discussion around the return we would want if Zurhaar leaves. Along with a bit of harmless day dreaming about what we could do if we got such a high return.

CZ for pick 9?

and then we're waiting at least 5 years, probably longer, for them to get to the level that Cam is at now, by which time LDU is 29, Jy 30, Bmac older.

We should be targeting 2025-ish as the time when we're super competitive - those guys will be in their prime, JHF, Powell, WPhil and a few others will be in a great age bracket. anything longer than that and our age demo is starting to get too spread out.

We should be aiming to recruit players in that 21-25 age bracket, not getting rid of players in that bracket for 18 year olds

You’re ******* kidding aren’t you?

This is the only good part of the season, the actual season is so beyond *ed, I can’t even comprehend it.

No i'm not, it's daily news of speculative bullshit that doesn't actually amount to anything until the day the trades are made, all the while the AFL media goes into overdrive being its usual shitty self, all as we look on with envy as other teams play finals through September and wonder why we even bothered with this year.

The regular season is a mere consequence of everything that comes to this time of year, and when you're bottom of the comp it really doesn't matter. At least when you're in the throes of a season you can drum up a delusion of hope.

Off-season is a mixture of hopelessness, confusion, misinformation and speculation. It's boring, when we get our actual shit together and actually be the envy of the competition that's when its more interesting.

No idea where this Bailey Scott stuff has come from, but sounds like absolute nonsense.

Im not saying we get rid of CZ, he’s the one making the decision if he decides to leave. Pick 9 is overs for CZ.

If we get hill and Arces , I think shiels isn’t needed.
Those two can take the wings and we have a plethora of our youngsters to play as well.
Also if Rioli and hill from gws are our targets - can’t see shiels fitting in.
I’d try to get him in as a dev coach and vfl player
Think we need to get 4 KPPs as well - so after pick 1 it should be talls only
