There's no way we're getting pick 5 for TT
TT was drafted at pick 8 and we have put 4 years of development into him.

If Rankin is worth pick 5 then TT is arguably worth more than that.

Assuming TT wanting to leave us is even a thing, the pick swap negotiations start at pick 5.

If that isn't jumped on by GC then TT stays with us for 2 years and works through whatever issues he has.

Ziebell has one more year at best, Ford not even close to putting up those sorts of numbers in the VFL. There's room for him Spider.

He's not that good. I've followed him pretty closely. Played with and against his old man in cricket. Good tank, nice hands, average kick and struggles to find the footy.

Exactly. He is contracted for 2 more years for goodness sake . Well within our rights to ask for a top 5 pick.

And my memory might be off but wasn't he projected higher but slipped because he was locked in with us?

I get that Thomas' value might not warrant pick 5 but I would prefer to role the dice with turning him around than add someone at pick 5 (which is really pick 6).

Thomas looked like a future AA 12 months ago. I haven't given up on that.

And he has been playing magoos for one of the worst teams in the AFL era. We all know how talented he is, but that's not what we'd be trading.
Unless he is absolutely bailing on the NMFC, he stays.

geez, trading some of our most talented kids away just so we get a chance at an 18 year old KPP in the draft would be mind-numbingly ****ing dumb

any KPP we pick in this year's draft is 5-6 years away from genuinely contributing, at best. It doesn't fit our list build or demographic at all. We'd be wasting prime years from LDU, Jy and co while we're still waiting for kids to develop

we must be doing everything we can to target around 2025-26, even if that means trading out early picks for 21-24 year olds.

I assume everyone is talking in the context Zurhaar and TT request to leave, the optimum result is they stay. If they want to go though with this new gift Sonja gave them, well that’s just a speed bump we need to maximise from.
