Anyone else find it weird there’s no criticism of West Coast picking up Jayden Hunt?

The guy will be 28 early next season and will be playing for a team that has almost no chance of making the eight. I don’t think West Coast will be as bad as people on here think but they aren’t a top eight side and will be losing many of their better players to retirement over the next 2-3 years.

Weird player for them to pick up imo.
Meh - he's not going to cost him anything, and they have to throw their salary cap at someone. It certainly won't be at any of their developing kids aside from Allen and maybe Chesser.

A player who might help them win a couple of extra games over the next few seasons to appease their disillusioned supporters may be worth it. And their squad is so trash that it's not as if he'll be keeping any deserving younger players away from their 22.

Corbett is an interesting one I reckon he’ll end up at the bombers
I'm not fussed if he does. I think he's a handy acquisition because we need forwards.

Is he an upgrade on Treacy? Probably.

But it's still best if we grow a few of our own so we would be happy to see games into Amiss and Treacy as marking talls alongside Taberne and Fyfe (if other of them can get on the track).

I'm also confident we'll pick a forward in the 2nd Round of the draft...and then there's Sturt...the great enigma.

Could’ve said the same thing about us recruiting players like Wilson yet that has been criticised heavily. Wilson is probably a better footballer than Hunt but Hunt being able to play on the wing probably helps his value somewhat.

It's in the interests of some very Senior People at West Coast not to bottom out too badly. The money men would probably also favour that. Whether that is in the long term interests of the club winning cups wise is another story.

They're probably going around saying 'three years out of finals max is our target' forgetting or ignoring that they have gone two years out already and are only starting their rebuild now. I mean it might work, but it probably won't.

Tbf we were probably quite similar at the end of 2016. Thing is end of 2016 is basically end of 2021 for them yet here we are in 2022…

I can only assume they’re paying him a decent amount more/for longer then anyone else was, makes no sense otherwise for him, let alone WCE

So we have only the one player we are confident we will be landing.

IN: Jackson
OUT: Lobb, Logue, Acres, Meek, Tucker, Mundy

What a joke.

This Fish Whiting clown that writes for AFL.com about brisbane and GC would literally write an article praising the suns list manager if they traded pick 1 for Connor Blakely!!
It’s outrageous that less than 3 years after this club was handed pick 2, pick 19, pick 11 and free access to the NT players, they are now giving away pick 7 for basically nothing as a “list management strategy”

What a dysfunctional joke of an organisation.
Ben king will probably be back in Melbourne within 2 years anyway and it will all be for nothing.
Farce.

I’m scratching my dandruff again, why do the Suns need to do a salary dump ?.

They wouldn’t have enough players capable of deserving high dollars. Obviously they must have a lot of players being paid inflated figures.

How about we actually wait until the trade period is done and dusted before we unleash the melts?

Come on Kramy. You've been around here long enough to know how it works.

Mitch Hannan or Jordan Sweet possibilities to be packaged up with 29? If we don’t land Corbett or if Meek leaves, might be good options.

Our 2021 off season changes were:
OUT: Cerra, Conca, Bewley, Thomas, Hill, Watson, Giro, Duman
IN: Brodie, Clark, Amiss, Erasmus, Johnson, Benning, Worner

Our 2022 off season changes so far:
OUT: Blakely, Western, Valente, Mundy, Logue, Acres
IN:

It looks fairly similar to me so far, I don't know if we will get two best twenty two former first round picks for second round selections like we did with Brodie and Clark but I'm expecting big things out of Jackson. Logue and Cerra both high picks, Hill and Mundy both stars bodies wouldn't let them deliver anymore surrounded by names of players who put in hard yard for Fremantle but a lot of people would be surprised were still on our list just last year.

Mitch Hannan was traded to the Dogs from Melbourne for a third round pick just two years ago, signing a three year deal with them. He's played 24 games out of those two seasons.

His name being suggested is like Fremantle offering Blakely last year for Jordan Clark. It solves more problems for the Dogs than it gives value to Freo.

Jordan Sweet, also contracted for 2023 has played 11 games across his five years at the Dogs - but he at least is quite a big guy. Meek replacement? South Australian. If he isn't better than Meek we might be better served rejecting that steak knives set and retaining Meek.

I dont know why western bulldogs are making this more complicated than it needs to be. If they want Lobb so bad all they have to do is cough up Aaron Naughton. Simple as, job done on monday or whenever it is trade period starts.

According to some media outlets Bowes is on $850k for next two years, heavily back-ended deal. They only played him 5 games this year and probably don't need him. They will want the cash space to overpay some of their marquee players coming out of contract soon.

So 11 no go. 29 not enough.

We expect bulldogs trading up somehow.
I think if the Dogs want him badly enough then it involves Brisbanes first in some way,if they don’t want him badly enough then he stays and everyone is happy except Colon
