Not sure if the comment exists in the 300000 pages here but I think it is worth noting, that the draft isn't what it used to be.

With free agency and player movements in general if you properly bottom out it is difficult to retain the talent you bring in via the draft.

Hypothetically would we be willing to turn any pick we got for Hill and his salary into Lobb.
Suits our needs better and would be very equivalent value in trade and money.
Seems to make more sense than him going to Bulldogs who have a bunch of key forwards already.

I wouldn't, Lobb is getting close to the end of his career. We need to inject some youth and draftees in. I would put a trade age limit of 24yo in place for a couple of years.

(Unless it was a real low cost, stop gap T Campbell type target)

For me Lobb is just a stop gap recruit. I would much prefer the club take the pick to the draft an get Isaac Keeler or similiar.

I love a good circle jerk but I'd prefer Mowman stay.

So you want a circle jerk with mowman staying? You sick bastard :oops:

Couldn’t agree more. It was always about how poorly the other players gave it to him or how we missed him when he was on.

At some point when you’re on 900 clams and a senior player you just need to get after it yourself.
Definitely was not the best way to endear him to his team mates ( through no fault of his own). Every parent knows you create issues when you pick out a favourite child.

I was always uncomfortable when he did it.

He is contracted. Clarko is openly chasing him.
We don't need his salary off the books.
We have the whip hand here and I hope we use it. Otherwise he stays - which in itself is not terrible.

I would say we'd absolutely want a pick. Something we can use to hopefully trade up to improve our draft hand.
That would be ideal.
I won't be counting my chickens until they've hatched though...our crowd is a funny old lot, they do some strange things and can be trigger happy.

I put up before this season started that players were annoyed with how Hill was treated
Said players told coaches in their exit meetings last year that his treatment was sending mixed messages to the playing group with different standards
Not just Hill the players lost trust in

With Rankine seeking a trade to crows, would something like the following be possible?

Trade Hill to NM for pick 19
Trade 2nd + future 2nd to BL for pick 15??

Trade 15 and 19 plus future 3rd to Crows for pick 5

gives Crows 2 first round picks which they would need to give to GC for Rankine as a minimum, gives us a top 5 pick

The thing with long. Is that there was patches of sunday throughout games in 2020.

Until he *ed his ankle. He look really good in round 1.

He was a big loss in the second final etc.

The talent is there. It’s about consistency.

As I said, clubs wanting Long highlight his value. It also highlights that we need to find a role for him.

If you can control his aggression. He plays at Half back for me.
He’s set the bar now.
He knows he can do it. We know he can do it.
Also appears to have tempered some of his aggression - not that we want him to lose it all ( can’t believe he actually got off this report)
Hope we’re keeping him.

Just gives another pick to love for NWM.

Would have thought it would mean they could get Nas through the door.

But you'd assume that the pick they would get at this stage is going to be end of 1st round. But it is the AFL, so if it ends up as Pick 9. I'll take that.

Pick 9 and 10 in the draft or try upgrade.
Purely hopes and dreams from me.
