You're off your head, surely.....

The Higgins trade I was not fan of but seeing him in the draft he was rated highly and a natural footballer but being not the quickest was his big question.
I've been more than impressed with the guy playing as a forward , he kicks goals and for a kid actually has the capability of changing a game - he also can get a lot of the football for a small forward.

To me he is a focal point down forward.

The bloke we drafted with that pick suffered a debilitating injury that he never fully recovered from....

That's the same with mccartin and his concussions.....

Just pure bad luck....

I swear there are actually people in here that really want the club to fold or move just so they can say "fukn told you so, I could've done better"

******* pathetic.....

I’m sure there are people on here that wouldn’t know crap from crisco and love to wallow in the clubs mediocrity.

This is dead set, the most moronic post I've seen for a while. Absolute horse s**t.

Would you say the same thing on Scott pendlebury who was the same at that age? What about Shaun Burgoyne who was never had a "chiselled" rig.....

Alot of players don't look like Jack Bytel, shredded to the ****. Alot of people bodies don't develop that way....

Actually get some knowledge about human biology before saying stupid s**t like that, absolute figgen ignorance....

Maybe next year is finally the year Clark visits the gym or goes for a run. Anyone can develop with the right diet and exercise. Stop making excuses for him.

What garbage, we’re fantastic that’s why we didn’t make finals and we’re having a review. Be careful of those splinters you have picket firmly wedged from having $5 each way.
It's not about being fantastic.
**** me, some of you campaigners are like pendulums....

We aren't that good at the moment, but it's not all ****ing doldrums that's been sprouted...

It's just negativity after ****ing negativity....

We have been one win off finals the last 2 years....people hear a rumour then all of a sudden It's ****ing gospel....just calm the **** down...

Our biggest issue as a club is development of young players. If Clark played for Richmond or Geelong he would be a bonafide star. Same goes with the likes of Gresham, coffield etc. these clubs play players to there strengths and don’t get caught up on there flaws.

I would, he's not going to cost too much and young. He's not a star but he's full of energy and adds to the pool of talent. He's the type that brings the energy with him and in a side that seems to mobve like they're ready for bed he'd add something. He's like a more consistent Long type. If we have to lose Long he wouldn't be a bad option.
I'm pretty sure you can get a better campaigner if you just be patient - you could get a Tom Mitchell or Matt Crouch for a carton of V.B.

The club invested in a top development coach last year already seeing the benefits with the drafted trio from last year.

I reckon he played two good games this season- goes missing during games
Fair enough. I reckon he owns the forward line sometimes and can get free and mark the ball. Creates chances, just needs to sort out his mental demons. That’s easier to sort than getting the ball in scoring positions, in my opinion…

I think why many are upset has been well and truly covered, it has nothing to do with just being negative. Stav has good information and what’s been talked about today is tantamount to an admission those in charge have stuffed up again and a change of course is required. How many can you have before those in charge are held to account. 1 finals appearance in an unusual year after how long and now the prospect of more years of watching on.

I doubt it , we have let go a few - Dunstan , Steven , Bruce , Parker , Minchington , Newnes , H.Goddard , Hind , Weller a few have played some good games but nothing to write home about.
We have brought people into the team and a lot of them have developed far better than what they were rated in the drafted and even improved de-listed players.
Wilkie - rookie
Marshall - rookie
Sinclair - rookie
Paton - pick 50+
Windhager ,Owen , Milera , Sharman , King , Higgins , Battle are all developing well.

Who watches it outside of the southern states, nobody. So how in the hell can Melbourne have small market teams when you can’t give away tickets to gws etc. That and the not inconsiderable difference that we’re not privately owned and have a must pay of what 95% plus of the cap.

What I meant is that we are coming into a new age of player movement where opportunity and cash are really the only things our club can offer.

Taranto and Hopper coming back to Vic would look at the 10 clubs and rank them.

We don't have an intangible that puts us at the top of any serious variables. We are in a group with North & the Dogs where good players will only come to us if we are already good.

Otherwise we are offering opportunity to players looking for game time (Higgins, Steele) their preferred position (Howard, Jones) or money (Hill, Ryder, Butler, Crouch)

We aren't going to be able to convince a Taranto/Hopper type to play for us for 700k a year. We have to overpay and throw up 900k+ just to get in the conversation.

Teams like Carlton, Richmond, Collingwood & Essendon can have you playing in blockbusters with the biggest crowds, regardless of ladder position.

Hawthorn & Melbourne can do the same when they are up and about.

Geelong have the lure of being a Vic club but with a country lifestyle.

That leaves us, North and the Dogs.

The Dogs salary cap is maxed out and they've not finished top 4 under Bevo. They had a miracle run in 2016 (on the back of a kid they had to pay $1million a year to lure in) and found a way to get there last year on the back of a midfield that technically had them over the salary cap.

If the Pies weren't paying for Trealor they'd be in am even worse position!

Then there's North. Not a destination club at all. They aren't getting any guns for fair market value. Maybe in a couple of years' time, if they are pushing up the ladder on the back of their multiple spoons, they might bring people in to "play for Clarko" but that's the lure of arguably the GOAT coach, rather than the club itself.

When it comes to the VIC teams - We are small market. Right now we would be 8th-10th in terms of destination for these gun players.

If Essendon get their shit sorted off field then it's between us and North and we offer zero point of difference to them, while they have Clarko.

The AFL is always going to prop us up. That's just the reality of getting 4.5 billion for 9 games a week, but we seem destined to always have smaller crowds, smaller contribution and a smaller appeal to out of contract players.

We will never be the Lakers.

We MIGHT get to be the Clippers sometimes.

We could pray for a drafting miracle to turn us into the Warriors.

But the reality is we are the Sacramento Kings.

It's shit, but it's true.

But stavro ha said bugger all.
All that has been said is that Clark may be up for trade if the right price is offered...that would be a top pick and only a deal that would favor the saints...

That's not saying anything about being in a rebuild.

It's basically saying if we can get a top 10 pick for him, then maybe it will be considered....

This is what I'm talking about throwing the toys out of the cot...my 3 year olds tantrums don't hold a candle to the ones thrown around here by experienced people who should actually know better...
