Colin Young on Brad Hill

"I'd be surprised if he is playing anywhere else next season. I know Clarko was keen to get him.

At the moment he is at St Kilda and he is loving it there. Id be surprised if he isn't there next season, playing on the wing."

Translation, the crickets are chirping as nobody else will go near Hills contract.

Sigh if only the Clarko business could have waited two more months.

He has played is best football for us at half back. He couldn't touch it on the wing while DMac and Wood outperformed him playing there.
For us maybe, but there us no doubtingbthe best footy he has played in his career has all been on the wing.

He won 2 best and fairest and was arguably the best wingman in the game.

Brad Hill wants to play on the wing, and doesn't understand why he isn't. He did a podcast with Tom Sheridan recently and made comments like he didn't know why he wasn't playing on the Wing he has been playing there his whole career. Colin young's comments saying he expects him to playing at St kilda on the Wing next year suggests thats a bit of sticking point with Hill atm..

We look better with DMac and Wood on the wing in my opinion.

Can't get the ball hence half back.

Young said what he had to say.

I think the cloud around Clarkson’s future will probably stop Hill from getting to North. But you never know.
If North are willing to guarantee him time on the wing, he might still want to go whether Clarko is there or not.

Based off what Collin Young just said, Hill is frustrated he isn't playing on the wing and wants to be guaranteed he will only play there next year. Mentioned he was meeting with Hill early next week to discuss his end of the season and a conversation in his exit meeting about playing wing.

But I don't see how we can do that - DMac has outperformed Hill there, NWM has been looking good, Wood's end of the year was better than what Hill had been producing plus Billings coming back form injury who should rotate between half forward and wing. That's a lot of others fighting for wing time and if Hill is going to sulk about having to play other positions, he might need to go elsewhere

Cal Twomey “Hunter Clark is interested in getting to North”

Heard from a friend of JHF's mum's yoga instructor that he loves melbourne even if he isn't in love with north melbourne.

He likes the bayside lifestyle and just bought a house near the beach in Sandringham.

Have heard that if it isn't this year, he will certainly request a trade to us at the end of 23.

Also Heeney very disgruntled after the GF performance and considering options to add some black to his jersey.

Finally.
Some real imagined b/s we can debate.

I heard that.

Would have to be part of a very significant deal for us to do that.

But Saints are very quiet. I just sense we are prioritising the improvement of our draft position.

Sanderson reckons we've got the 5th oldest list profile, so he's concerned about our list.
I'm concerned for other reasons, but I wonder if he's still talking about our list profile with Geary, Ryder, Hanners in it - and including Campbell who's really just a backup.

Has anyone got the time to check our average age taking delistings, retirements and Campbell into account? It couldn't be that old, surely.

That changes the narrative on here with Clark actively pursuing a move. I await with anticipation what the Clark loyalists have to say.
Changes no narrative, until Clark requests a trade, nothing has changed. Towmey may well be parroting what Edmund said the other day.

Yes this would have to be it. We can't just let Clark walk for peanuts.

We were 5th for 2022.

So far we sit at 7th for 2023 taking into account the retirements and delisting, which is .1 years older than 6 other teams.

I think Billings is a long shot, can't run for another 8 weeks. DMAC was injured for the best part of the second half of the season and Wood, while for the first time in his career is having a good run with injury, has been injury prone.

If Hill doesn't understand why he wasn't on a wing, he may want to look at the defensive and attacking running Wood and DMAC do on the wing, they play like Hunt and the other Kent on Melbourne's wings, they run back hard in defence and get forward quickly when in attack. Hill can easily match them for pace and endurance, but can't match them for attack on the ball and in man in defence.

Hope he was told that at his exit interview when he asked why he wasn't on a wing. I know he did extra work in the off season last year with another football code club for endurance. Maybe he might want to go to the Storm this off season to learn how to tackle. Just a thought.

Brad has had some great games this year, clearly a star player and a cut above many of the other players in the squad. One of the fastest runners in the AFL as shown in the GF sprint and his run and carry creativity.

So what are you saying, do you think it's a good idea to get JDG?
It's a great idea, imo.
If we want to be watching a good football team we need to have good footballers to chose from.
