I think that one is supposed to be just one of the three deals. IE we give picks 10, 14 and a future 2nd, and get back picks 7 and 16.

The other two deals are not mentioned.

Edit: It's a little clearer in the AFL.com.au article:

Adelaide has put three different trade scenarios to the Giants to try and push up the board from pick 10, including offering pick 10 and a future second-round pick, while swapping 10 for No.7 and then 14 for 16,

I think those two scenarios are actually one combined scenario, the guy just interpreted Twomey wrong

Agreed, although it's a strange way of putting it. We "offer" pick 10 but also swap it? I would say it's just a poorly written tweet, but the article uses the same language.

2 and half hour meeting before the draft? Clarksons not wasting his time if he won’t get his way.
Classic 50/50 call I reckon , will be fascinating to watch tomorrow

I think they should take him , they don’t have a player like him and he will bring much needed composure, maturity and professionalism

I can't remember which article it was, but they mentioned that North Melbourne recruiters were happy that Clarko was showing an interest but they weren't going to let that shape their decision.

They desperately need talls but they seem to hold to their strategy of just not taking them early.

I was actually trying to get an 'I am Spartacus' thing going on the board.
But perhaps it was a bit obscure.

Not sure about that. I think there might be a bit of an internal power struggle - I don't reckon they're going to want the coach stepping in and making drafting decisions.
Last-ditch effort to try and make us trade pick 1 is my guess. They're making it seem like they will grab Curtin meaning we cant with a future pick. Seems you guys have beaten us to the punch with GWS anyway with your offer.

Surely that second scenario offers very little to GWS, they actually lose out

Just building interest in the draft surely. No way GWS look at those offers. Reckon we take our first two picks and trade out our 3rd for a future pick and a later pick this year

Outside of Larkey their talls are hopeless

Surely the real offer is 10,14 and future 2nd

For 7,16

We take 7,16,20 to draft

We potentially slide back from 20 a bit and bank a future pick to help cover Welsh

I’ve read an article just now which says North are unlikely to pick him. They flew him to Melbourne last week to tour the facility so it’s strange thing to do if you’re not picking him

With Welsh from my understanding he is being discussed as a 10-18 type pick. With Ashcroft and Academy picks it will blow out by a minimum of 2-3. So let’s assume he is 10th best available - or say pick 13 - our second rounder (pick 30 ish and Dees pick 34 ish) almost covers points required … So Welsh is fine with our 2 x second rounders unless he really jumps up to a top 6-7 type player.

clearly we need to either (1) trade our 2024 first (perhaps Petty) or (2) package our 2024 first with 2025 F1 to get ahead of Welsh and aim for a top 5 pick and chase Draper

So trade out 20 for a pick next year? Can’t see us doing that. We have Melbournes pick and we can worry about that next year.
Not sure why people are so worried about matching next year.
GC are going to be able to match 3 players including one who might be pick 2.
Matching 1 player is nothing.

Yep. We’ve already banked a decent future pick, worry about the rest next year.

Pick 20 even though it will blow out a bit is still a decent pick. We made a big deal of the Doedee compo, now it’s just points? Nah

Doubt it this is the 3rd time he's interviewed Curtin personally at the Combine and since, the 2nd time with family present. What remains to be seen is can he convince head recruiter Will Thursfield and footy boss Brady Rawlings if they have other players in mind.

Not sure how he is now but in the past Clarko has been known for standing over the recruitment team and demanding player x over player y etc. I'd think Rawlings wouldn't crumble to that however.
