Mod notice after Mr Bob did a lot of annoying work in moving days of posts out of here. As we are heading into offseason, this thread is for 2023 list management only. Getting upset on previous trades can be taken to the vent thread. Lets keep this thread on track in the part of the year it's actually relevant

Basically they'll be 22-24 and 40-44 before any free agency compo

then academy bids etc will change it too but expect a pick around those numbers for each (3rd round i've adjusted for a bigger variance due to more compos possibly affecting it)

Seems to more hype around next year’s academy and father/son players tbh especially for the two Queensland clubs

Can't say I've kept up with the academies as much since they made the NGA 40+

Still should be atleast a couple free agents that push the picks down, not overly sure who is left on the board though

Totally out of context, try reading the whole thread, someone suggested Treacy and our future first for JVR, I suggested if we were going to make the trade. I would offer Treacy and Norths PP 2nd this year. Snuff said I was in la la land if I thought that would be considered. After the weekend there’s no way I would trade Treacy except if he wanted to go back to Victoria but it would be a straight swap for JVR.
Think you need to try reading my actual posts!
So what I said you said is what you said. You did suggest trading Treacy.

I guess now your adding him to your irreplaceable list along with Brodie.

They were definitely cut in 2020 and no AFL club has three Category B rookies in 2023. I think some clubs have three rookies that were eligible though (ie one is cat A).

I saw this article at the time and assumed it was a typo based off no announcement and no team having three category B rookies in 2023.
According to this list two clubs have 3 cat b rookies (GWS and WB) IMG_4157.jpeg

That list is incorrect though

Dogs have 2 and GWS have 2

No clubs having over 2 does lead to the AFL not reverting the rule

Geelong had none and then took Clohesy and Riccardi as father son rookies but they put Riccardi on the cat A list, only reason I can think they must have done that is they knew they were getting the Irish rookie?

So they probably had it right in the AFL keeping the cat b list at 2, just weird that the AFL can't even get their website right lol

Derksen has another bag of 5 today in the VFL, against the pies so decent opposition

No hitouts this time, wonder what role they've got him playing, seems to be really talented, either racks up possies or kicks goals

It’s incorrect. Brown (GWS) and Khamis (WB) are both on the Senior List of these clubs.

Both had their fourth year on the rookie list last year. There was no announcement either had been upgraded but AFL rules say they must’ve been. Both clubs have 35 on the Senior List according to this but the minimum in 36.

The website you’ve used is actually very good tbf but it’s missed information not announced by AFL or the relevant clubs. The same website has Schultz on the Rookie List - the only source of the club upgrading him was an interview with Peter Bell. There was no article saying he was upgraded. It’s poor by the AFL and it’s clubs.

Father Son rookies are pre-listed like Category B rookies but actually go on the Category A rookie list. I’d suggest maybe Clohesy was an unregistered player as well.

Lucas is pretty scathing of Sumich here for not doing any research before the article haha.

Btw did I miss something how did Tom Morris get another gig in the media. Talk about hypocrites he has no right to bag any player out for off field s**t.

Maybe Sumich was the poster on here last year saying he has it on good authority that Sturt was heading home to South Australia :drunk::p:D

Yeah Morris is a flog but I did enjoy listening to Scott Lucas. Sounded intelligent and insightful. Too good for SEN if you ask me

I think it's worth separating that horrific troll bait of an article from Suma from the actual list management discussion. Given Jacksons performance around the ball, does anyone think we would be worse off in the medium to long term if we turned Darcy into Naughton? I think from a list perspective we'd be better off but Darcy seems an even more "heart and soul" guy than Logue and Acres and I think we've seen this year that you shoudlnt underate the impact of losing well loved players all the time. Losing Darcy would really hurt

There is no way we should trade Darcy for Naughton unless Darcy wants out.

Both are good players however my feeling is we would be not be noticeably better with that player swap.

We need to be loyal to our own core players above all other considerations.

He was a pretty effective forward. Kicked goals. Like a lot of his team mates he came across as an arrogant prick.

Danny Southern had Summa in a step over carrot choker hold for a minute too long (or too short if you are that way inclined) back in the day.

Summa's already defective thinking apparatus was probably starved of oxygen resulting in permanent damage with the sad results we see today.

Defintely. For team balance Darcy/Jackson/Amiss/Treacy is a much better mix of talls than Jackson/Naughton/Amiss/Treacy.

Priority picks in general really make no sense. Team has been bottom 3 for years in a row, meaning they have access to top 3 players of the draft every year and they're still shit. So let's give them even more access to the top 3 players every year because that will definitely make them less shit.

I like how they did it last year, picks that have to be traded though the AFL being cheap on what they knew was going to us was shitty.

Think there is absolutely no chance they gift them Reid anyway
