If it's pure midfielder vs midfielder in position, then McKercher (181cm) beats Reid (185cm) at that position because McKercher is a pure inside and can spread to the outside type midfielder, clean below his knees, great IQ, tackles hard, great hands, very good kick an a great burst to get out of the contest or to the outside but his bread and butter as that classical rover. Comparsions to him being a Zach Merrett type player is fair but McKercher is quicker and more agressive at the tackler. To those having greater knowledge on this stuff than me, what is it about Reid's game that puts him so far ahead of McKercher's game, bearing in mind that speed, contest to contest running and kicking stood out like dogs balls in this year's GF, that we'd pass up on having 2 of the top 3 selections? (assuming we get Band 1)
Rival clubs have told foxfooty.com.au the Bulldogs are in the box seat to acquire Gold Coast’s first selection (currently Pick 4) by giving away Picks 10 and 17 and, if needed, their future first-round pick. Should the Dogs land that selection, it’s expected they’ll take a smaller, hybrid player such as Eastern Ranges small forward Nick Watson or star Tasmanian midfielder Colby McKercher.
10 and 17 maybe (its about a 20% premium on points to pick 4), but an F1 as well is insaneRival clubs have told foxfooty.com.au the Bulldogs are in the box seat to acquire Gold Coast’s first selection (currently Pick 4) by giving away Picks 10 and 17 and, if needed, their future first-round pick. He is raw, but there are some draftable features there. Particularly, his body shape (he will be a solid lump once he fills out) and physicality. I wish he got to play full time as a forward this year, he often had to play plenty of minutes in the ruck, which he is never going to be at AFL level.Do you think there's much to work with with Kentfield? Looks like an imposing type and he has a lovely kicking action which reflects his kicking accuracy.
It was just a stats comparison to highlight that Morris represents excellent value later in the first round/early 2nd round.Kidding yourself mentioning Morris in the same breath as those guys. They have natural football talent and are elite.
I’ve seen no footage of him but if he’s got the above assets I’m all inKentfield also plays a physical game, loves to hit hard.

I've heard half way through the year that the Doggies fwere wanting to target McKercher in the draft as an heir apparent to Libba...they can keep their paws off Watson.Rival clubs have told foxfooty.com.au the Bulldogs are in the box seat to acquire Gold Coast’s first selection (currently Pick 4) by giving away Picks 10 and 17 and, if needed, their future first-round pick. Maybe it's case of WC or Freo trying to hide players again...

Croft not nominating or haven't l should say, is interesting...he knows he has Darcy in front of him with English and Lobb as well...consider a 2nd rounder for him (if we have any picks left).
But..... do they get on base?Kidding yourself mentioning Morris in the same breath as those guys. They have natural football talent and are elite.
We wouldn’t have gotten anywhere near the assistance and there would be so much pressure in the media that band combo would be in doubt. This would have been a whole lot easier if we just lost our last game!

What? If we lost 21 in a row the argument would be for more assistance - not less. Band compo in doubt as well? Were you on the grassy knoll when JFK got shot - or maybe he wasn't actually shot...We wouldn’t have gotten anywhere near the assistance and there would be so much pressure in the media that band combo would be in doubt.
In the end, we would probably be in a similar position, but would have to do it in a much more difficult way.
For pick 5, I'd substitute a f1 from next year. Give GC some points for their 2024 academy picks.Pick 1 for 2 and 3. Hard no
Pick 5 for 15, 20 and 41. Hell yeah
2. 3 and 5 will be massive.
