Looking forward to this, although going to be a tough one. Really want the guys who've been solid to accelerate and put pressure on seniors for the rest of the year. Stephens has another opportunity to force his way in. HHK, Warner, Rankin, Arnold should be looking to do the same. Mitchell and Magor starting to look at home. Konstanty hopefully has a bag or two in him before seasons end.

Plus the academy guys, hopefully Cleary and Kirk can help our "midfield".

The Swans broke through for their first win of the year against Sandringham last week and will aim for the upset of the season with four members of the high-flying Allies team – Indhi Kirk, Caiden Cleary and VFL debutants Tye Gander and Max Rider – coming in alongside prolific midfielder Ryan Clarke.

Mid-season draftee Harry Arnold will line up against his old team just two weeks after heading south, with his fellow newcomer Jack Buller rushed up for an AFL debut on Friday night.
Prolific midfielder lol

Lions 4.6.30
Swans 0.2.2

Some observations from the ground.

Lions midfield is a class above ours. Ball has lived in their forward half. Despite that, our lack of forward options is evident with Buller out. Defence has looked OK considering the amount of repeat entries from the Lions. Problem is when we have the ball we have no options forward and it just comes back again.

Dyl Stephens has been in the thick of it but his footy IQ is clearly lacking. Finding the ball ok but doesn't know what to do with it. Got himself caught trying to find a way through traffic rather than kick it.

Gould looking good. Probably our bog.

Arnold looks solid. Would likely be found out at senior level at this stage.

Warner looks good. His footy smarts and kicking is first class.

McAndrew strong in the ruck.

Clarke disappointing so far. Should be our best midfielder but looking just OK at this level.

Rankin also looking lively

Don't know how to explain it but when Warner takes the game on I feel like he has an assuredness to him that Stephens doesn't have. When Stephens does it I just get the vibe he's got no idea where he's going or what he's doing with it
Watching in person, Warner is already ahead of Stephens and its probably only the size of his body holding him back at this stage.
