3, 15, 18 for 1 & 22

Wait, that should read 2, 15, 18, for 1 & 22.

We draft with 1, 3, 17, 22
I’d happily do that. About as close as it’d go I’d say but they’d want 2 instead of 3. Reid and Duursma/sanders/Curtin is still good going. Maybe they can add the darling dump?

So with the West Coast Brockman trade, it leaves them with only 3 picks in the draft (1, 23, 37). You get the feeling they are splitting pick 1. It'd almost be negligible not to, after the season they had.

And unless they give up future picks, they can't live trade on draft night because their biggest currency would be gone first pick.

The contrast to what North have (2, 3, 15, 17, 18, 57, 65). I think a trade between North and West Coast will be done in the coming days.

Just wait 12 months
Let the Eagles draft Reid at 1 then we take Curtain at 2 or 3 then after the 2024 season Reid will want to comeback to Victoria and Curtain May want to go back to WA .
But if for some reason Cutain wants to stay here we can still trade with the Eagles maybe our 1st pick next year and maybe a player or 2 thrown in.
Or we can suggest to them a straight swap for both players with draft picks thrown in.
As a club the NMFC we hold all the cards why risk doing something stupid by giving away a draft haul of picks which I still can’t believe the AFL has given us by putting all the eggs in 1 basket by selling the farm to get Reid.
We might even get lucky and the Eagles might call out Curtain name 1st.
Then Reid is all ours.

If your club thinks the same way, then a trade could only we be us or keep the pick…So how far apart do you have Reid above McKercher..?

Not my own opinion, I'm stealing the opinion of the AFL club affilitated scout on our board.

It's close in his books.

I think the main appeal for us with Reid is his ability to play other positions, not just an all out mid. Personally i dont think theres much difference between he, Sanders and McKerch other than that utility factor. We've got a good young group of mids already but there are question marks around how we manage them when not in their preferred positions.
I wouldnt be surprised one bit if we went Duursma and Curtin for that utility factor.
2 of the three (ZD, DC, HR) would be ideal. I think our best result would be something like the 2017 draft where -from the outside - Freo seemed uncertain leading up to the draft then selected Brayshaw at 1 over LDU.

Pick 1: WC pick the safe option in McKercher

Pick 2: North bid on Walter

Pick 3: North select Reid

Pick 4: North select Duursma.

If Reid decides to come back to Melbourne- he won’t be coming to a bottom side.
He’ll pick a top side and the weagles will get 2 picks in the 15-20 zone.

That's not what I'm saying. We were always going to trade it, but for a straight pick swap you don't expect to come out ahead given that everyone knows we had to trade it. That's why I think that we may have given the Suns something extra that is hidden from view.
GC were in the same boat essentially, as pick 18 was going to be swallowed up in matching bids & they already have enough picks/points to match all bids in this draft, so it was an obvious trade & win/win for both clubs.
We surely bid on Walter at 2 as he would be who we would be taking in an open draft (we wouldn’t even be entertaining trading up for Reid if he was)
I doubt we get bid on Read out of some kind of spite unless we genuinely rate him at 4/5

Says to me WCE are certain we'll take who they want at 2 or 3. Good job Brady
Or simply that the Eagles will look at pick swaps all the way up until live trading but player movement needs to be complete next week.

If I was the Eagles, I'd look at who is picked up at 2 and 3 and live trade with someone like the Dees if who they want is still on the board.

I hate the Judas as much as the next guy but he has all the attributes to be greater than Dangerfield.

HR has nothing on Judas.

Judas was ripping games apart against men as a 17 year old.

Once his tank improves he will be unstoppable.

His issue is between his ears. He needs to get that straightened out.
