Good question. Picks 2, 15, 17 for 1 and 22 is about my best offer.

On SM-S901E using BigFooty.com mobile app
I imagine thats put to them, then if not we go after another upgrade with the late first rounders. If still not a suitable deal we still go to the draft happy. We'd have to be a good chance to find a real gem with one of those later 1 firsts.

This may well be the deal that gets done. But personally I’d rather swap 15+17 for 8 and go in with 2, 3, 8 and 18.
2, 3, 8, 18 is the dream scenario for me!

Unless it went: 15 + 17 for GWS 7 + Haynes SD. GWS then trade 15 + 17 for GEE 8 moving back one place in the draft whilst freeing up 1.2mil of cap space. We move from 8 to 7 and secure a KPD.

Talking about Haynes and a salary dump is like trying to make "fetch" happen.

That is a theory someone posted on our board, yes.
I'll go on the record and say I hate the weird wishy washy compensation the AFL gave out. I don't love the McKay pick 3 thing but that was on the cards eons ago. The messaging is wonky and weird.
There is many a salt packet on our trade board about this very matter.
Between that and the many northern academy picks, this draft is cooked.

I hold no ill will towards North for making the most of a s**t system though. You can only play the ball as it comes.

The question I put to you is this - you're Brady Rawlings, I'm Rohan "The Pie Man" O'Brien. What are you offering for pick 1? Best and final offer.
Outside of North, the only issue ppl had with McKay compo #3 was where we finished...if we finished 10th/#9, and got #10 no one would have cared.

Anyway:
Final offer: 3,15,17, Free, Hansen for 1 and Barnett

I hope there are a couple more state league players to come.
Backline looking very thinn

If WCE won't budge on #1/Reid:

#2 Bid on Walter
#3 Bid on Ethan Read - f'em make them use their picks and payback for not trading #4
#4 Curtin - best KPD in the pool, player that can really go forward, doesn't need to go into the middle imo as we've got the bull that can go in there to spice things up....we just need a talented KPD.
#5 Sander - as much as l wanted Watto, insurance for Wardlaw and l think the club owe's to him since we've made him go through all the hoops of NGA and trying to pick him as assistance plus with his friendship with Sheez, less likely to go to Tassie when they come calling.
#17 D.Wilson - smart ball user, play wing, hbf or go in the middle. Stephens/Tucker and Fisher allows him time to be developed in either wing or attacking HB.
#19 M.Edwards - Outside of Read, probably the best ruck in the pool and can go forward and equally drops into the hole in def. He can develop whilst X has the No.1 or cover for CCJ
#20 Tew Jiath - Sound defense, has the length to cover midsize/fwd and pretty good kick..Clarko wants another CJ, here's his brother.
I thought the PP24 trade for #18 was a bit strange given that it gave us a nice bit of profit in that deal when we would have been negotiating from a weak position. I wonder if it was conditional on not bidding on Walter or perhaps any of the Sun's academy players? I guess we'll know if North don't make bids you'd expect them to make.

I humbly disagree, l think our mate leaving after the 1st year spooked a lot of clubs from picking interstate talent makes you wonder if the Cats would have picked Ginbey or even if both clubs would've trade their picks in the first place had he stayed and then we'd be in the same dance as you are but with GWS for #1...we'd probably be as stubborn as you blokes and won't budge either .

Now back to Reid, everyone wants him but (coming from an obvious entitled view;)) we've sucked for 3 years never being able to access to the true No.1 and in a year where there are no ties to No.1 so we deserve that to cap off our rebuild but you clowns decided to have a stinker as well...we couldn't even get PP1 cos you clowns once again, put the fear into Gil that WCE may need #1 more then us.

Yeah we'll pay a premium for Reid but it wont be #2, l'm sure there will be an agreement not to take Curtin but #3 will used.
If it's 3,15,17 and F2
You take 3 - Curtin which either replaces Hurn or McGovern (whose a hammy or an ankle away from retirement)
If no agreement, 3 - McKercher, outside of Tim Kelly you don't have a player like him on your list.
15 - Darcy Wilson who would replace Gaff maybe Yeo long term or mix him with Edwards playing 50/50 Wing/HBF.
17 - M.Edwards is your future No.1 Ruck/Fwd or 100% Ruck.
F2 - probably nets you P20-23 (presuming you P19).

And l can guarantee you that if you were the scum, there is no hope in hell would l want any of our current picks to go to that scumbag club, couldn't careless if W.Carey was No.1.

I digress, really interested in what you or your blokes are hoping to achieve with just 1 & 23 as l don't think you'll get a better offer?
Your rebuilding is just starting, all these premiership/AA players basically have no draft currency and you've seen what the future looks like when 40% of your list is unavailable added to that Simmo will likely be sacked....and take it from us, a ground zero rebuild f'in sucks!!!
We will be rebuilding for atleast 3 or 4 drafts so this isn’t our only time to get high end talent, and I see north as it stands building a dynsasty from last years and this years draft no way should you trade so much for 1

West Coast are trying to get the best outcome for their club pick wise and are using Reid in trying to get that..If pick 1 was about more than 1 player then clubs would most likely not get involved with such ridiculous requests. l think we call their bluff and seeing as the Hawks have put their best offer on the table and been rejected it seems to be either us or the Dees..We will always have the better hand but dont want to short change ourselves,,,l think West Coast will end up with pick 1 but will pick someone other than Reid maybe McKersher..

l'm thinking it will be..

WC................McKersher
GC.................Walter Matched Bid
NM................Reid
Nm................Duursma
Hawks............Sanders
WB................Watson
Dees............. ???????
GWS............. ???????
NM............... Curtin........traded picks to Geelong for pick 8/9
We rate Reid, as does every other team as 1 on the available players, ROB has come out and said we are likely to keep 1 and take Reid when asked about it this week, Reid has also come out multiple times and said he is fine with being picked by eagles or north as he wants to be a part of taking a team from the bottom to the top, I don’t think north give up the currency for Reid and I don’t think it would be worth it

AFL would have taken it off us if we didn't trade it.

That's not what I'm saying. We were always going to trade it, but for a straight pick swap you don't expect to come out ahead given that everyone knows we had to trade it. That's why I think that we may have given the Suns something extra that is hidden from view.

2 and our future first for 1 and your future first. The death rides would be epic.

I’ll bite - why Barnett? He showed absolutely nothing in the WAFL last season. He’s a long long way off.

On our board its advisable to put your teeth in when talking.

Haynes to North ain't happening, sadly. Haynes to anywhere ain't happening
