If west coast aren’t taking two top 5 picks from hawthorn then they won’t accept anything. They are being unreasonable. Call off the chase Brady
That is the joy of holding the golden egg. The club can name their price.

This is dangerous territory now. If they knocked back that offer then they’re only going to accept 2/3 + 8ish and possibly more than that.

If we end up with 2,3 and 8 I hope we take them all to the draft.

Please Brady, you’re doing well. Don’t ruin it by dropping your pants now.
Hawthorn took some good scalps later in the year, they're probably worried death riding might backfire. Big risk to take. If the future pick was guaranteed 5 or under im sure they'd seriously consider.
Other factor is they need the talent now.

Mckercher’s disposal > Reid’s
I must say having just seen that highlights package that his kicking is much better than some in this board have suggested. Looks like he’s got a good action - guides it onto his boot and doesn’t drop it. On his right foot, sure, he’s not convincing but on his left, what’s there not to like?

They’re back a month earlier than last year. Let em have some fun. Because the next 4 months will not be fun, it’ll be real hard. If they think losing is hard, this preseason will be worse than that.
When are they back training.

What a hack!

Goal kicking mid with burst - mckercher is ours

Everyone knows how I feel. It is what it is.

All I’ll remember is I was there when you were first on the McKerch… cycle.

Because i see Sanders more like LDU than the smaller in and under types. I did say McKercher has more outside run than Phillips/ Wardlaw but in around the coal face id back Phillips and Wardlaw.
Wardlaw and McKercher in the middle will be like a couple of heat-seeking missiles.

The problem is they aren't naming their price, they are just saying no to everything other than 2 an 3 and that isn't going to happen.

Disagree, the 2 and 3 is posturing. No one outside of early 00s Fremantle is doing that trade.

2/15/18. That's my prediction for a club accepting a bid.
Maybe our third going back your way, leaving us with 2,15,18,22 for our four selections. (22 will go back after matching bids and academies)

Our BF board thinks this is woefully inadequate, you think it's stupidly over. I lean your way, but the AFL did give you concessions so you can afford to use them if Reid is truly the one Brady Rawlings and co seek.

What a hack!

I’ve watched footage of 3 games where they showed every one of his disposals and in that small sample size, his kicking looked an issue.

Don’t want to single out one poster, but I would like to know what Souup thinks of his kicking? Or any posters who have watched a lot of Mckercher. ie not just highlights.

I hope we don't do that. No player is that good (except maybe Carey/Ablett) and we need all the picks we can get.

If it was down to me I'd be saying we're not trading at all. Five picks in the first round is unheard of. Why would we give you lot three of them?

I agree, it's bad business for North. I wouldn't be either.

I believe North are better off playing the cards they were dealt and loading up. Taking McKercher and whichever of the top lads they like for 3 (Curtin? Watson? Duursma? Not sure - you fine people will know better than I) and then loading up on the quality talls available later in the first - O'Sullivan and Murphy. I'd say Sanders will be gone by your third pick but in the off chance he isn't then obviously you'll snap him up.

Watch this and tell me he's even on the same planet skill wise as Sanders.

It's an interesting contest in strategy - the Hawthorn offer was a pretty strong one, so I take it that WC and North are really the only protagonists; Melbourne have got capital, but 6 is too far down to ensure you get the one you want (after Reid).

As you say, perspectives inevitably differ, but to me North are in the better position, in the sense that they have another option other than WC - that is, using 15, 17 and 18 to trade up; keeping 2 and 3 could see North with 3 top 10 picks.

In the reverse, WC are left with 1 and 22 (and Brockman) which is a slim foundation on which to build, no matter how good Harley is.

I think it is as unrealistic as 2 and 3, but who knows, I can see a club like Dees throwing everything they have at a player like that because they aren't going to see top end talent for a very long time so late first rounders don't mean a lot to them. I can't see a side rebuilding that needs assistance to become competitive can trade away almost all of their picks for one player.

Perhaps Hawks or Dees will throw all they have, but that would mean likely missing both Reid and McKercher.

Just a quick observation - I appreciate that you people have been welcoming on your board. When you wander into the other side during times like this it can be a bit testy. You folks are alright. Cheers
