Saying one of the top rated players “can’t kick” is not just expressing an opinion, it’s plain wrong. No rules against that on here either, so go for your life, but it’s a bit rich to say a response to what you posted about the top group you don’t personally rate is “hyperbolic”.
I didn't realise how truly atrocious his kicking was until I watched this highlights package:

The other dimension is the environment that the number 1 pick is going into also.

This mob is a complete and utter rabble.

They won a flag 5 years ago and had about a dozen premiership players on their list this year but still lost 5 games by 100 points or more.

To put that into context, in the last 4 years, where we finished 17th,18th,18th and 17th, we lost a total of 3 games by 100 points of more.

It's staggering that Simmo's still there regardless how expensive it would be to pay him out. He'll have to be Barassi/Hafey/Jeans all wrapped into one to get his players back.

What's more staggering is the likes of the Fireman and Goggles Barrett, having made a living feeding off how toxic our Club was in 2022, have said absolutely nothing about the shitshow that will play out at that Club in 2024.

I feel sorry for whichever kid draws that straw.
Yeah pretty much ensures the on field side wont be enjoyable for 3 years. One advantage WC does have over us however is being in a two team state with ample FA opportunities. Still very hard to turn all that around within Reid's three years with just 1 pick under 25 this year.

That’s it, would go for us as well with Harley. You know Collingwood, Essendon etc gonna be into him contract or no contract.

Forgetting WCE supporters you can’t blame them they just want something to get excited about, for WCE to say no to something like a pick 2 and a 15 and 17 (I reckon NM would/will offer that Clarko overpays) they would be insane. Especially when he is a flight risk no matter what is said.

You get the 2nd best kid in the country, can take a pure mid, mid/tall, goalkicker in Dursma plus bring in two quality first round kids. The odds of looking back on that in 5 years time and saying taking REID was the right thing would be 10 -1.

Imagine we had of taken the JHF offer! And that was less than this.

I am concerned we are going to find a way to stuff this up. Maybe we NM supporters are just conditioned to expecting the worst.
Cant see Reid or any younger player wanting to leave North, being in his home state and developing along side one of the most exciting young lists going around. Yeah JHF did it but hat smells of a set up well before the draft and our 'youngster' list is significantly better now. Maybe a Tassie kid might too with a massive offer once Tassie get their team, but we'd be well rewarded.

That’s a massive offer they’ve knocked back.
They obviously want 2 or 3 in a deal.

Lol hawks ripped off bad here, but now even better West coast only have 2 reasonable picks in the draft. Gives us a bit more leverage for pick 1 if we choose to go that way

I don’t really get how you can say Mckercher is too similar to Phillips & Wardlaw, whilst suggesting we select Sanders.

Because i see Sanders more like LDU than the smaller in and under types. I did say McKercher has more outside run than Phillips/ Wardlaw but in around the coal face id back Phillips and Wardlaw.

West Coast rebuilding with one top 25 draft pick, Matt Flynn and the same old list as this season. What are they doing??
Believing in, somehow, their mighty premiership and AA players will have an injury free year, the pick #1 will have a greater Daicos rookie year and form a partnership with Ginbey and Hewett as the next Cuz, Kerr and Judd and finish top 8.
Reality is we hope Chom has an injury free year and they hope 40% of their list stays on the park week to week...dunno what weird reality their fanbase lives on.

There was that peanut who was drafted to Collingwood but got homesick for Geelong as he wanted to go and play with his brother. FFS it's 45 minutes on the train.

That’s a really good offer they’ve knocked back.
They obviously want 2 or 3 in a deal.

They would want 2 top 10 picks plus another 1st round and possibly even another first round or a future first. Hawks offer ok but they obviously want more , especially high picks ,I would too it’s pick 1

Is he actually a poor kick though? I know your comment as well as some others were tongue in cheek, so this is not directed at you at all. Just would like to know his kicking efficiency numbers if they're out there somewhere.

Granted he doesn't have the most beautiful looking action, it's actually a bit ugly for a lefty, but seems to be very effective nonetheless (although it might just seem that way just going off highlights).

Also could be a ways off here, but he reminds me very much of a left-footed Sam Walsh in the way he moves. Although maybe just slightly more outside. I do still think his attributes make him enough of a point of difference in our midfield. Just. Would still be happy with him at 2 or 3.

Did that guy miss two flags in consecutive years as well?
