If Bonner came over, and turned into a decent longterm player (could happen?) would this sweeten the JHF deal - given we knocked him back got more picks and then took him for free?

Just sayin.

Anyone know anything about Brodie McLaughlin? Delisted key forward from GC and winner of the frosty medal for leading vfl goal kicker. Surely be a better option that Bonner
Already been picked up by North and then delisted by us apparently 😁View attachment 1837447
So the bulldogs have JUH, Naughton, Croft coming, Darcy and Brodie McLaughlin has been linked with them? These guys just make this shit up as they go along don't they. As if we didn't already know.

Looks like Lycett is going to be subject to some sort of job sharing arrangement with all Victorian clubs. Innovative.
AFL MEDIA RELEASE:
The AFL is pleased to announce a new draft will be introduced this year. The Airtasker Draft will allow eligible players to be contracted for no more than 5 games per club per season. They will be eligible to play for up to 3 clubs within the same season.
AFL MEDIA HACK:
Sources within AFL house have suggested that league heavyweights are particularly pleased with this new addition to the draft calendar. It has been seen as a success before it even happens as it adds another sponsor in Airtasker and it even further complicates the drafting process.

Passmore will possible have something to add, but at a club function a month or so back Boomer Harvey said that Sausage was good to go by late in the season but they held him back as there was nothing to gain by bringing him in early. Said he's chomping at the bit tp play, Holding back will help him build strength for 2024.
And when he get's going, all the trade/draft bullshit will fly out the window very quickly.

If we bring in Bonner, it’s purely for depth for mine. With Fisher Corr and McDonald likely starting best 22, it’s time we get games into our younger defenders.

Personally don't mind bonner pretty elite user but def a flaw is his defending or lack or.... but if we were trying to get scrimshaw, bonner is similar user just a poorer version so the link makes sense to me

The game's evolving away from his type. Pace has become vital for half backs, and he has none of it. It would be a step back for us regardless of his kicking ability

We need to sort out the defence fairly quickly, we won't do that by bringing in seconds players. No offence to him.

He would've served a purpose. He had Richie Van den Berg as captain at one point.

I reckon Clarko has a fair handle on things.

I don't doubt his overall handle, but there'll be blind spots there, as with everyone. The fascination with left footers isn't an issue, but I could barely name a noticeably slow player below 195cm from any of the past seven flag teams.

Clarko doesn't strike me as someone who'd subscribe to the chaos ball philosophy but it's undeniable that good movers are becoming more important to teams. All over the field
