What KC said. He's the most in-demand free agent available this year, every Victorian club is after him.

GWS have an offer of 5x700k already on the table for him.

We'd probably have to offer 850k+ x 5 just to get a meeting.
I’d offer that to Himmelberg to get him for free tbh

If Ben does decide he wants to go elsewhere, and this may have already been suggested, but why don't we just go and get Himmelberg?
Because Himmelberg 'don't wanna' just go and get us.
Funnily enough something has just come across my desk. Turns out what we don’t possess in on-field competence, we make up for in off-field “culture”…

Stay tuned on this one…

The Huddle? Please be the Huddle.

Edit: I think I have mentioned the Huddle as a big factor in my signing up international and interstate people before.

Can anyone tell me how many draft picks we have?
Also if Brayden George comes off the LTI, and Mahony gets delisted does that mean we need to axe only one of our rookies? Robert Hansen is on an 18-month rookie contract.

At the moment we have 38 senior listed players and 8 rookies.

Of those on the main list Bonar, Goldstein, Greenwood, Hall, Mahony, McKay, Perez, Spicer, Young and Ziebell are out of contract at years end. That’s 10.

The rookies are Dawson, Drury, Edwards, Free, Howe, Shiels, Turner. That’s 7.

Out of those on the senior list definitely Goldstein and Greenwood will go round again. I’ve also heard Ziebell gets another year for his early season form. McKay will sign on or leave.
Leaves Bonar, Hall, Mahony, Perez, Spicer and Young as in trouble. At this stage all are gone IMO. Even Flynn. 6 delistings.

As for the rookies, Dawson and Drury I’d give 1 year deals too. Have showed good signs at VFL level. Free too unless he’s home sick and goes back to WA. Shiels is almost a necessary signing. Been invaluable. Leaves Edwards, Howe and Turner as gone.

So that’s a turnover of 9 players. 10 if McKay leaves as a free agent.

Two first rounders, two thirds, and a fourth.

Then the McKay compo if he leaves, plus any PP if that eventuates.

So definitely 5, maybe as many as 7.

Also, I don’t think it’s clear what happens to the two extra rookie spots we were given as part of the priority pick package. Assume we keep them for another year, but who knows.

Doubt we're getting a PP and if we do, it'll be similar to last year (which actually worked really well). McKay compo ain't gunna be a top 5 pick imo.

I think it will be used to help us not hinder us. We'll go to the AFL justifiably asking for a Priority Pick and they'll say no, however they'll give us a 1st round compo pick regardless of whether the formula warrants one or not.
Have been saying this for ages.

We’ll get one or the other, despite being deserving of both.

Theres been a few that have said that...l just think that we could put that one to rest...

Is your basis for Ben not wanting to play with Harry their draft-time antics 8 years ago?

Himmelberg caught up with a few of our players in Sydney for an intimate dinner. That's all I know at this stage...

That was just shooting some content for Zurhaar's channel.

I really don't rate Himmelberg as a defender, as a forward he'd definitely straighten us up, but I don't think he'd be a good replacement for McKay, in the event he leaves
He looks incredible against us, because we allow him to be a loose marking defender.
