Trade period is before the draft, they won’t know where the bid will come during the trade period.King gc pick 5
For pick 3, future 1 and our 28
That gets the deal done imo if Walter is not bid on before three

Every media person is suggesting Mckay to the Bombers is basically done.
Hence why i think it'll take at least pick 2. I don't suspect GC will think Walter will be bid on at 1 with H. Reid there.Trade period is before the draft, they won’t know where the bid will come during the trade period.

So how would we get pick 2?
It’s the reason I come onto this site. I love it all, pease everyone make a post, have a crack, it’s fun to read it all.I don’t claim to have any inside knowledge big fella. What I do know is most things you’ve said over the years do not come true.
I’m not looking to get into some s**t fight, just warning for those newer members to not get their hopes up for all the names being thrown around in here.
I agreeI think the big problem if we get McKay is we end up way too top heavy and will struggle when the balls on the ground in our defence or coming in quickly.
We have a lot of defenders that look great when the balls coming in high and slow. And McKay will add to that but not help us where we struggle which is when the ball is hitting the deck or the opposition mids get on top.
Geez GC with Reid, Walter and all that other talent. That would be exciting for them.Hawthorn
OUT: Pick 3, Round 2 pick, 2024 First, Brockman
IN: Pick 5, Ben King
West Coast
OUT: Pick 1
IN: Pick 3, Hawthorn 2024 First, Brockman
Gold Coast
OUT: Ben King, Pick 5
IN: Pick 1, Round 2
GC may need more? Could additional pick swaps get there? Could players form part of it to get over the line ?
That would allow GC to get both Reid and Walter, for West Coast to get Curtin and Hawks still probably get one of Dursma or Watson
Gresham FA to cover for Chad.
Pick 30 for Haynes + Pick 11.
11, Future First, 51 for King, 28.
Brockman for Liam Henry straight swap.
28 + Future Third to Brisbane for Lohmann + Future Third.
Ins:
Gresham
Haynes
King
Henry
Lohmann
Duursma (Pick 4)
McCabe (matched bid, deficit next year)
Last thing on the wish list would be an A-grade CHB but we can look to address that afterwards.
If and it’s a big IF Ben want to leave it’s news to the Suns as he has bought a house, his girlfriend lives up here with him and he has said many times he is happy at the Suns. Of course things change so I can’t pretend to know his mind.Only way we get King is we trade up to get pick 1 trade this to GC for King and hope to get pick 5 in return. For GC they get Walter and Reid and we get King and still first round player. Probably fanciful like us getting King this trade period
Values King low and Suns won't do it.Hawthorn

The challenge for Suns is that their pick 5 isn't much value to them as it will be eaten up. They need to move that. So if they can use that to somehow get hold of pick 1 and walk away with Reid and Walter, there's a lot of value in that for them. It would be a pretty incredible outcome to walk away with the top 2 kids in the draft (again). Agree they will probably want more for King. Question is whether other parts can make it happens with those core pieces in play. I thought it would be impossible, but can now see a way to get King and pick 5. If we could pull that off, it would be amazing.Values King low and Suns won't do it.
If Suns keep hawks 2024 pick while Eagles get the Suns 2024 first, that is more of a chance. Maybe Suns throw in Sharp to Eagles as he is in their sights.
Hawks f1 will give the Suns a better chance of getting ahead of Academy bids for next yr( have good talent again, lucky ^%$#).
CJ is NOT going anywhere. Please don't even bring his name up.We can in exchange for Pick 5 & F1 and a player for King.
With King, my proposed trade would be
Hawks Out/ Sun In - Pick 3, F1, 30 + CJ
Hawks In/ Sun Out - Pick 5, F2, King ( + Suns last 3 junk picks)
Once Suns have Pick 3, they can trade for Pick 2 or even 1 by adding a needed player. Say Sharp + 26 + 3 for Pick 1 or Flanders + 3 for Pick 2. So may have to be multi club trade to go through.
Earlier I had put up a case for CJ & Suns fans were wondering if he was on the table.

Footywire says: "While we make every effort to keep up to date with player contracts, it is likely that our data may at times be out of date, incomplete or inaccurate. PS : I liked CJ's brother Tew Jiath skills in the video posted, seemed a clone and would like to get him on list via late or rookie pick.

As you have stated we would want pick 1 to ensure no bid on Walter and the only way of getting pick 4 with King as you have suggested would be to give us next years first as well and I’m not sure that would be enough as we would want some points in this draft if we gave up pick 4 to ensure we still had points for all our academy boys and there is no guarantee that you wouldn’t climb the ladder with King marking darts from Day
Interesting scenario
Actually from all indications Eagles want to take Reid, so Pick 1 may never be on the table. If Suns have pick 2, they can dare Eagles to bid on Walter which would be unlikely. The challenge for Suns is that their pick 5 isn't much value to them as it will be eaten up. They need to move that. So if they can use that to somehow get hold of pick 1 and walk away with Reid and Walter, there's a lot of value in that for them. I seriously do not understand. Not saying he wants to leave but a player telling a club he’s happy probably doesn’t mean much without a long term contract… buying a house also means little.
I’d see the biggest thing keeping him could be the incoming coach selling him on future success.
You know what I’m talking about Kirbatrongiven the absolute debacles of Cogs, Lynch etc i'm blocking my ears Ben King rumours
We will be getting the academy guys regardless so they shouldn’t come into any equation, basically the offer you are putting forward is pick 1 for King and Pick 4?Hawthorn
