I would say you both are pretty close to the pin, however as we know things change dramatically and quickly in this business so this is the mail that I've been hearing right now but if it doesn't eventuate then we know things change.

Either way, I wouldn't recommend leaving your seat today or tomorrow - word is that a flurry of deals will come in and some may fall over, whilst other deals become a war between clubs and I suspect a few deals to go right down to the final minutes of what is always an exciting time in the AFL landscape far and wide
Well they need to get a move on
It would be good to see something go down apart from Dan McStay

Dan's been licking his (or someone's) lips the last few weeks

Bailey Smith seen touring Moorabbin but left furious when he discovered the Disco no longer exists

WTH?
If a club is stupid enough to do it and it bites them in the bum so be it.
I don’t believe it’s up to the afl to list manage for clubs.

Personally, would hate us to ever go more than 5. Even a superstar can have a career-ending injury.
Happy Bobby Bonilla Day!

What deal is SOS cooking up that DAMO has been alluding to

Rekon we asked the question about Liam Duggan. Don't think anything will happen though.

Grab Dow for a late pick then hand off Coff in the last 10 minutes and that'll be us done.

Would have liked to see Coff as sub rd24 instead of Byrnes. Probably wouldn't have moved the needle enough for him to stay but it would have been good to see him at the level again.

Butler. Stick him on a HFF and say "mind that interceptor that screws us royally" as rather have pings at our goals instead of 25m from the D50.

Byrnes is far too dynamic and can play multiple roles actually, Butler is there for pressure in F50 and not much else really. That being said, I was trading him at the ACL so, moot point to me that Coff wants out.

No labels on that one…

In the Henry trade, it seems like the majority of us think we laid a bit too much, and the majority of Freo fans think they didn’t get enough. On that basis, I’d say it was a pretty reasonable deal for all concerned.

On that basis, I reckon Dow for a late 3rd rounder is about right. We’d want to get him for a 4th, Blues would want an early 3rd.

Same for Coffield. Unfortunately a late third is probably where it’s at.

Funny you say that because I’ve been hearing something different. Everything is on the table but nothing is off the table. There’s a lot of anticipation but no movement yet. Weirdly everyone is silent but the silence is deafening. I guess things could go either way but nothing is guaranteed and I wouldn’t be surprised if something big might or might not happen. Watch this space.
I am hearing opposite ..... that nothing is on the table but everything is off the table and that there is lots of movement yet no anticipation. Not so weird is that everyone is roaring and the roaring is piercing as everything is guaranteed but down a one way street though I would be totally surprised if nothing happens or does not happen and really we should all flipping move on

I come in peace, is Dougal still on the trade table and roughly what do you think his value is?

We’re unsure. At this stage it looks like SOS has personally called his counterpart at every other club to inform them that despite all rumours to the contrary Dougal Howard is definitely NOT being shopped around, but he is prepared to listen to all offers just for shits and giggles.

What were you thinking?

It's a difficult question.
I think Phil Davis or JJ or someone was saying he's not the player he was.

I wonder if that's true, or if he's not the player we all thought he was.

If he really has gone downhill, given it's his heat-of-the-moment decision making that's the main problem - why has it gone downhill and can it be fixed? I suspect that maybe he's just not the player he looked like being.

He's a great size, has good foot skills, is athletic and defends well. So to clubs with no big K.D he'd be potentially worth a late first or early second. But with his incredible stuff ups on an almost weekly basis, I think a lot of people would say late second or even later. Some people on here would probably give you a pick to take him! If the Roos were serious about wanting to get off the bottom, I agree with the TR guys that they should be enquiring about him after losing Mackay, and if it was them we should squeeze them for whatever we can, given the charity they've received.

A lot of us would have Cordy ahead of him in the team, as we went with in the final. But if Cordy isn't fit, we don't really have anyone else of that size to bring in - so we'd want to get something pretty useful for him. And even though I'm sure we'd trade him if someone made a decent offer (we want to hit the draft over the next year or two but don't have a wealth of picks), we haven't heard that he wants to leave or anything like that, AFAIK.

I heard he was furious when he realised that when SOS said "we have a rock down back" he meant Callum Wilkie and not what he was really chasing

I heard the same from someone at the club. I won't name names, but he was a tallish shortish man who walked with an upright stoop..
