IF we did and were able to get a project ruck, it would be a great outcome for the list

I'm the other way. I'd go balls-to-the-wall on Toby Murray as a ruckman at this point, and decide on trading in a ruck depending on his developmental curve in 2025.

Sure, the ruck craft isn't there at this point (high water mark of 16 HO), but I reckon the rest of his game has the scope to become a dangerous ruckman with some added polish to his game. Accumulation seems average, a solid marking (in particular contested seeing he averaged > 1 per game) option, and most importantly, there is some forward craft in that profile (noting he's a goal-a-game third tall in the SANFL currently).

And if I was gambling on the next "must have" in football, it's a ruck who can double as a dangerous forward.

A bunch of middle aged fat male slobs sitting on their laptop or phone calling an 18yr old kid spending his first year in an elite sport environment fat/lazy will never not make me laugh.
FWIW, I'm a middle aged fat male slob who agrees with you wholeheartedly!

If North take Taru maybe we do trade 4 with Richmond for 6 and 24? Just pay Burgess out.....
No, we take the best midfielder at 4.

Very likely Draper, possibly Smith.

Going by Hamish's comments this morning if we had a second pick we would be targeting Hannaford not Dodson, so we can put to bed that we would have picked up Dodson if he slips past pick 28.
Meanwhile the other local ruckman is likely to head to the Swans, though Cats also interested (gather as backup plan to Dodson).

Yeah but if we were gonna pick Draper a 4 regardless and we knew if we didn't take him at 4 he'd still be there at 6..... Wouldn't you bank the extra picks? Like if Richmond moved up to get Smith at 4 and Melbourne haven't been linked at all with Draper it would be a wise business decision.... Wouldn't it?

This is still a business dealing, the acquisition of assets if you get the same asset you wanted with the added bonus of more collateral..... You'd do it. If Draper is "our guy"

So annoying we don’t have a pick to take Hannaford

Really annoying
We are not ruthless enough.

Should have just paid out Burgess if no one else picked him up.

No guarantees & risk not worth taking.

We would be moving our pick from a prime position.

Why would Burgess accept a payout when he's contracted? After all, that's career over. Better gambling for the miracle.

Adelaide's issue isn't Burgess. It's we chose to recontracted Cook. Which was an awful decision even before the printer ink dried.

What happens if someone trades into 5 and takes him

Not worth the risk

He wouldn't have a choice!

We pay what's owing next year in this year's cap.
