You should be looking at Charlie West later in the draft for your tall forward, he's the best contested mark in this draft amongst the talls and a sub 3.00 runner with speed on the lead to go with his leap and athleticism. No go home factor either. Another that had some injury issues during the year to also contend with.

Yeah i like him. Ive got him 31 in my rankings. Would be happy if we got him

In the end this is correct

But overall at moment it’s acknowledged , hence prob not too many teams trying desperately to trade up
But that's mainly because there's no takers at the top end other than perhaps the Kangas plus Pyke and co obviously wanted the 2 decent picks rather than the 1 top ender.

I'd be surprised if there's not plenty of maneuvering going on in the background still to get up into the top end.

I think maybe for Lalor because everyone wants a player like that

FOS is classy but a few question marks after this season despite some excuses

Langford - speed

Draper - kick

Smith - hurt factor

I don’t see guaranteed ‘elite’ players just very good ones

We’ve just traded for speed

Peatling Cumming ANB all get over the ground well

Definitely targeted speed at the trade table , I’m all for more speed but it’s not the only consideration

Edwards on backburner too has the jets
Cumming is reasonable but not express, ANB definitely not fast. Tested not far off Langford. Peatling is quick but also has played 40 odd games and competing for a midfield spot with Taylor and Dowling. Edwards got drafted off the back of a small handful of decent junior games and a long way from proving he’s an AFL player. No definitive 1st choice mids in that group.

I would expect Peatling is already ahead of both Taylor and Dowling on exposed form this season.

I think Peatling’s deservedly ahead of Dowling and Taylor right now. Things can change, but Peatling is currently more proven, he got coaches votes when played in there

Speed always helps but you don’t pick at pick 4 with that as the only consideration

As I’ve said we’ve used trade period to address speed so that it’s not the only factor with pick 4

Lombard being outside multiple top 10’s is still wild to me
If I was a conspiracy theorist, there’d be some kind of benefit the Suns theory there somewhere in it all. Just doesn’t figure, has been outstanding at every turn over the last 2 years. In my top 5, maybe top 3.

He’s been my #1 for a while now. As complete as anyone in this draft

Clarke is a gun, I slept on him all year but re-watched some tape and he’s so classy

Would be a good get for Port even at 29

Clarke looks all class

Not us but..:huh:

AFL: How this year’s ‘Super Draft’ is putting the squeeze on club lists, forcing delistings

Clubs are being forced to make ruthless calls on players they only a few years ago were being touted as future stars. MATT FORREST examines the far-reaching effects of the best draft crop in years.

It has been labelled a ‘Super Draft’, and list managers have been cutting harder and younger than they have in years in an effort to maximise their hauls in late November.
In an effort to create more list space and flexibility entering this year’s draft, which has been touted as the deepest in years, clubs are culling former top picks that were once earmarked as the future of their teams.

There have been more than 100 delistings across the competition, although several clubs have committed to rookie listings players they no longer had space on the senior list for.

Collingwood will take that step with premiership player Oleg Markov and forward Ash Johnson, while Sydney will re-rookie Aaron Francis and Joel Hamling after they were cut this week.

So going by the player comparisons listed, they have

Smith = Butters
FOS = Bontempelli/Sam Walsh
Draper = Chad Warner
Lalor = Dusty
Langford = Jordan Dawson

Any of these guys would be a great fit for us, but for me adding someone with Chad Warners skill set is exactly what we are missing from our midfield group. Butters would be the next one. So either Draper and Smith would both be a great outcome for us.

That FOS comparison makes no sense. Bont and wlash aren't similar style players, so how can FOS be like Both?

I don't think Lalor moes like Dusty either.
