Saints more likely to split pick 8, than trade up to pick 2. They are wanting to take multiple players in the 1st round, rather than the 1 gun.

Combination of the two. Hamish will be the one picking the player he rates as the best based on what Reid wants. Most of the trading is done via Reid.

Most scenarios i think we should be able to pick Draper, unless Carlton prefer him over Smith, then we get Smith.

Big tick for this. I'm not a super regular poster on here, but have definitely been trying to push this message when I do.

We are in a golden spot, both Smith and Draper are perfect fits for our midfield group.

It might pay to revisit last year's discussion, if my memory serves me correctly. I think there was a discussion such as this about one of the draftees, (possibly Curtin?), where a big song and dance was made about a coach flying over for a serious greet, but nothing came of it. I don't think it means much.

Agreed, all confusing and espionage, double espionage and even perhaps triple espionage occurring.

I agree theres lots of games and misinformation and not sure we should trust what any club is feeding us either privately OR publicly. Its not in Blues interest to let us know he is potentially their number one choice at 3 CONSIDERING we can manufacture a trade to get ahead of them. I am just suspicious here but thanks to C4 (sounds like a Star Wars robot! which is a good thing obviously) for always being open with the info he has or believes will happen. Whether he is always fed the right info I dont know...

It was also reported last week in the media that it was the THIRD or FOURTH Blues meeting with Draper. Very different to meeting for the first time...
