Didn't he kick 8 goals in his last sanfl u18 game?Do you think he’s suffering from playing seniors? If he was playing U18s his performances would be dominant and he’d be talked about more. It’s worked out well for us I reckon.
Yeah but that was against a depleted crap Norwood team if I recall correctlyDidn't he kick 8 goals in his last sanfl u18 game?
Yeah, but if he actually was going to dominate against kids his own age, he would have at the Champs.Didn't he kick 8 goals in his last sanfl u18 game?
Fair go, he was mostly played as 3rd banana up forward behind Tallan Rosenzweig and Charlie Nicholls in an ordinary SA line-up as results showed.Yeah, but if he actually was going to dominate against kids his own age, he would have at the Champs.
He's a nice pick in the 30s, and that's fine.
A little bit of that and a little bit of being a one trick pony re he doesn’t have enough endurance base to get up the ground and get involved consistentlyDo you think he’s suffering from playing seniors? He’s certainly not in fashion among recruiters ( and draft media ) , there are so many good players this draft and his weaknesses and the fact he’s tied to us might see him slideWhat do you mean by "he's a bit on the nose"?
I got Welsh ahead of Murphy by a fair bit , more explosive and more competitiveYeah I like Johnson, Alger and Day-Wicks
I’m a big fan of Josh Murphy (gonna claim him as my guy haha), a medium forward maybe isn’t a huge need for us (especially with Welsh coming in) but I think he’s got match-winner written all over him. Would snap him up in a heartbeat at 29
If anyone is doubting what Welsh could be for us to and watch last half of SA v Country at princess park ( this year and last year actually !)Fair go, he was mostly played as 3rd banana up forward behind Tallan Rosenzweig and Charlie Nicholls in an ordinary SA line-up as results showed.
It was very clear Bamford had the two tall towers Rosenzweig and Nicholls as the teams focus for scoring opportunities with most forward forays directed at those two.
Wouldn't be taking too much out of Welsh's Nationals performances other than Bamford probably helped us draft pick wise.
Jagga Smith's full highlights from an excellent Champs run in which he must have finished a very close second to Murphy Reid for Metro MVP. Jagga entered the 2024 season already highly regarded and has only solidified his sterling reputation to the point that he's now firmly in the pick 1 conversation.

I think he's Richmond bound, anyhow wouldn't be in my first 3 or 4 picks for us if I was picking, Preferably we need a player with real explosiveness and possibly more sizeDoesn’t like wasting the footy , that ability will take him a long way as well as his nose for finding the footy
Just enough agility / speed too
Just too talented in the air and at ground level (especially at that middling size) for mine to go any lower than 30, seems to more often than not find to get involved in the game tooI got Welsh ahead of Murphy by a fair bit , more explosive and more competitive
Murphy plays a bit too nice for a big guy , needs to compete a bit harder , can smell a goal like a Josh Jenkins
Yeah he’s quality, any player that has a knack for accumulating combined with creative vision and disposal is an AFL playerDoesn’t like wasting the footy , that ability will take him a long way as well as his nose for finding the footy

They will bring the restrictions back by thenMight suit us in a couple of years if Jermaine Miller keeps improving...
He’s a sure thing in my mindYeah he’s quality, any player that has a knack for accumulating combined with creative vision and disposal is an AFL player
Think he goes to Richmond
Wouldn’t surprise me if he got through to rookie draft so it’s going to be interesting !Just too talented in the air and at ground level (especially at that middling size) for mine to go any lower than 30, seems to more often than not find to get involved in the game too
But I doubt we’ll draft two 3rd talls
Who do you think has the highest ceiling as a mid if it all comes together ?I think he's Richmond bound, anyhow wouldn't be in my first 3 or 4 picks for us if I was picking, Preferably we need a player with real explosiveness and possibly more size
Sam LalorWho do you think has the highest ceiling as a mid if it all comes together ?
I kinda of agree, but you have to admit that you're biased.Sam Lalor
Lalor the obvious pick re: higher ceiling. Bo Allan probably another (though I need to see more of him). Travaglia as a mid maybe as well? He’s a sure thing in my mind
Likely gone before our pick but would make it interesting
Be interesting to hear who people have as their sure things as mids vs potential higher ceilings
Yep, genuinely deep draftWouldn’t surprise me if he got through to rookie draft so it’s going to be interesting !
Could be a few shocks re ones missing out on draft night
