Darby is 181cm and is on the shorter side of AFLW rucks - looking across the comp & those leading the way for average hitouts:
Alice Edmonds, Bulldogs - 189cm
Jess Allan, Crows - 185cm
Mim Strom, Freo - 182cm
Lauren Bella, Suns - 188cm
Lucy Wales, Hawks - 184cm
This is where Erin Hoare’s retirement really hurts, because while she wasn’t necessarily the most involved ruck around the ground, at 194cm she gave us a good advantage in the ruck
It’s also why it’s frustrating we didn’t get to see Lilly Pearce this season as she’s listed at 186cm - so while she’s young at only 21, she could have been seen as a long term option in the ruck
I’m curious if Mason’s selection is an indication we may be seeing a bit of Moloney in the ruck this week - Mason is an option up forward who could potentially play as a leading target. And we all know how athletic Moloney is and at 183cm, she could maybe give us a different look in the ruck and a slightl height advatage against Brisbane’s ruck, Tahlia Hickie who is listed at 182cm

I'm guessing this is the same for the men - the songs we hear after kicking a goal have been selected by the players, so for the last couple of seasons they've been able to select their goal celebration song

Not sure if we'll be seeing a position change or it's just part of the warm ups, but Parry is doing drills with the defensive group

I'm also questioning Parry being listed at 176cm - Moloney, Parry & Mason walked out from the tunnel together and Parry looked to have a couple of cms on Mason who is listed as 177cm
