Hearing Ashcroft has scurvy. Lions not going to match a bid in the first 8 picks. Too risky to bid in the first 6, so will slide to 7 or 8.
Rumour going around that Lalor is involved in trafficking a large shipment of penis scented vapes and may get suspended for the entire season next year. Hearing clubs with the first 6 picks will overlook him due to risk.

So we still have no real idea of who we will end up with in the draft?

Even the NGA's are looking a bit problematic although Hoffman looks the most likely ATM.

Can't see North trading Pick 2 in order to pick up a specific player who may not be available at a later pick.

More likely they will trade based on need alone - forgo a mid to pick up KPP's.

If they miss on Tauru perhaps then they keep shuffling back to get Armstrong or Shanahan (or even both).

Would you do this

Pick 7 for 11+20?
Highly doubt it. Only way 7 moves is upward

8 maybe (and its a big maybe and depends who is left on the board)

If we are splitting 8, personally I would prefer GWS 15 & 16. Can see the attraction of 11 & 20, but I would think the Giants are our first call. Gets them Travaglia, and gets us some combination of Lindsay, Trainor, Shanahan, Hynes and maybe even Ried

Doubt it. We need one of those top tier mids and there is a better chance with 7 than 8.
You will get the same player at Pick8 as you would for Pick 7.

Pick 7 goes to Nth for Tauru

It all hinges on whether you want more early picks in this draft

I do not know if we would offer 11+20 or GWS would offer 15+16

Interesting.

8+F1 for 10+11.

It costs a premium to get premium picks.

Carlton paid an F1+ F2 for 14.

They sent 12+14+ Owies and junk for 3.

If you don’t want to part with 6. You need to give up value to get either of our picks.

Giants can give us back to back picks.

If you are proposing NM gets Pick 7 and we keep Pick 8, then I hope you are getting us more than Pick 2 in that arrangement.

Because that's exactly what is being proposed in our F1 + 7 for 2 trade to NM.

I doubt it. Buzz off.

Underage and State level comps also play a very different game to AFL footy.

There's a lot less ball possession that we see at the top level that makes it difficult for some kids to rack up impressive numbers.

Then you throw in the fact that during the National Champs kids are moved out of prime ball winning positions onto flanks and wings because there's so many others who can play midfield minutes to a high level.

Fortunately, our recruiters are all over this & will make decisions based on factors other than just raw (and somewjhat misleading) stats.
Bo has speed and power out of stoppage, which we’re crying out for..
He also is ultra competitive in tackling and second efforts!
Has a great leap plus endurance & speed, so honestly I doubt he’s a risk at all

Yeah it's purely just that midfield craft. If we think he can get it, great. If not, we might have one of the best behind the ball leaders and future captain (Hodge, Harley, etc.).

I’ve got a feeling we get Smillie/Reid

I’d be happy with this.
Who knows..a lot depends on that pick 2
We could end up with your scenario or..

Smillie - Travaglia
Allan - Travaglia
Allan - Reid
Tauru - Smillie
Smith - Allan

IF North retain pick 2 & they pick Tauru & Richmond pick Smillie at 6, it’s not inconceivable that Jagger slips to us if Melbourne take Langford!!
Fascinating subplot

Yes his attributes are fantastic.

But a great white midfield/star hope who lacks midfield craft as he is seen as a half back/third tall isn’t a great prospect to sell to a fanbase begging for a midfield star

The tempter maybe if GWS offer 15,16 & 21 for & & 32

He did some nice things in the midfield playing for Peel Thunder in a premiership side

Pick 32:
This is where all the KPPs are rated and some small forwards. Mids are all at the top so there is a bit of a discrepancy here

Key defenders:
Noah Mraz
Harry O'Farrell

Key forwards:
Thomas Sims (fwd/ruck)
Kayle Gerreyn (fwd/ruck)

Small forwards:
Jasper Alger
Josh Dolan (hopefully not, massive dickhead)
Archer Day-Wicks

If we don't take 2 mids at 7&8, we'd need to be hoping for sliders because its a bit bare in the second round:
Tom Gross (hoping he slides...unlikely)
Christian Moraes
Xavier Ivisic
Luke Urquhart
Hugh Boxhall from WA is an interesting midfield prospect

Again, there are 7 mids. We are making this Top 6 to suit our narrative. Reid is VM MVP, highly touted and highly performed, and should be seen in the same ilk as Jagga in the accumulator mould.

He played as the stopper.

I’m not against drafting Allan. I agree that some of the stuff he does is exciting.

But I am also very much eyes wide open. The draft watches are spot on with their assessments. He lacks midfield craft.

If we miss out on a burst mid at 7&8 then not a bad option but I'd only do it at 47 if available

Kicking and decision making is below par. Another one that tends to just bomb it to no one as long as he can
If one of them select Tauru we select the slider mid @7.
If neither does, we have the option of Tauru and maybe still a slider or the first of the next mid picks.

We are really in a fantastic position.

Not dissimilar to the Wilson & Phillipou drafts..got a couple of beauties there!

They are not a cop out.

He has been injured at the least opportune time.

He has had serious collision injuries. When he gets a solid stretch of games he is great. The spaghetti arms are a myth. Some players have an innate strength without being jacked. He is one of them.
Hopefully Hunter avoids getting polaxed by Zac Jones this preseason..
