Had a look at the board of one of our potential pick swap targets.

Very funny that the supporters from said team with an average position of 17.4 over the past 5 years is talking shit about us, a team that in that period has played finals (and won one) twice in that time, and has only missed the rest by; 1 game + %, 1 game + %, 2 games + %.

Apparently we've all loss our collective minds. They on the other hand are champing at the bit to get yet another midfielder and once again completely ignore drafting any top tier KPP.

Imagine the combination of Sinclair, Nas, Tavaglia & Tauru as attacking springboards, with the weapon of Arie’s kicking!

That was the point I made last night.

Wilkie, Tauru and Hoffmann intercepting everything in the air forward of centre.

NWM, Sinclair and Travaglia bursting off half back linking up with Wilson, Hill and Wood on the wings or through the middle.

Speed galore. Good luck keeping up with us when moving the ball. It will be a point of difference with other teams. Nothing troubles other teams quite like sheer pace.

Like everyone else I want us to access a top mid. But if they aren’t there then they aren’t there. Let’s hope we are trying to jump up the order. But you can’t trade without a willing trade partner.

But having said that, Tauru is going to be a bloody star, North’s loss. Whoever we pair with him will be quick and dynamic. I trust our blokes making these decisions and I now trust our development.

The draft is tomorrow. Every phantom is a prognostication and not a review. Let’s see what happens when it actually unfolds.

Comben took 60% more contested marks and 25% more intercept marks than Josh Battle last season.

Respectfully, Comben has the attributes but hasn’t demonstrated the durability to rely on.
And Will Dawson? Mate, clutching at straws. That’s like us saying Isaac Keeler is on our list so we shouldn’t consider another ruck/fwd.
Theres no denying our biggest holes are mids and yours are key position. Unfortunately for both of us, the best players available at our picks don’t fit a need as well.

Did you really, seriously come onto another teams board to argue that having a decent ruckman and a defender that has played 3 games is going to fix your KPP issues? Or was your point that despite having a midfield stacked with talent, you don't actually having any glaring KPP issues, despite only winning about 15 games in 5 years?

In your mind, exactly how did you envision this interaction going?

If the big 6 are gone id be just as happy to switch strategies and load up on best talls., we should just take Tauru and Armstrong.
Let McRae and Steele lead Hugo, Pou and Windy through the midfield and try and snag Reid or Hotton in the late teens with F1.
