Why does the Academy exist?
On the surface the Academy exists solely to provide draftable athletes to the AFL/W programs, however it is much more than that. As well as providing draftable talent, we also exist to keep the best talent in Queensland (by shipping them off to Melbourne to be trained), to develop athletes to better the standard of Community football (and by community we mean Sandringham, just don't ask us where it is) and to provide opportunities for staff and volunteer Professional Development (in Victoria).

I rate Shoey and Hastie as well, but they need to compete to get into the firsts. Hastie is a pick 24, and Shoenmaker is a pick 62. If they make it from there it is a very good outcome.
