Yeah, Ross said in an interview that we've "lost" Crouch to his degenerative knee and we needed to free up the cap space or list spot or something.

No he didn't say that. Crouch is still contracted and will be given every chance to prove his fitness before the SSP period ends in February.

Until we have a club choose not to match in the top 10, it isn't a good system. Clubs should be squirming at what you need to pay for that.
