No he didn't say that. Crouch is still contracted and will be given every chance to prove his fitness before the SSP period ends in February.

That's what I'd previously heard too. Then in the interview I read online this morning they quoted him as saying we'd "lost him" and mentioning freeing up cap space.

It was the same interview where he mentioned Cotton On.

Maybe they misquoted him.
