Speculating somewhat but l think SOS's work this year looks like this.

.F2nd for Boxshall & Said
(Buying in to get these guys augers well)

.Slipped a couple of spots in the 2nd round for MacLobster but didn't seem to miss out on who we wanted, so goes down as a no cost move.
Molier taken right before Dodson might be a cost, also might not be.

So MacLobster, Carroll and Said were acquired at no discernible cost to our position.
That on the back of Henry, Dow, Hugo and Ari last year.

Probably time to give the bloke his dues imho.

Future 2nd the only relevant one, shuffled some third and fourth rounders too.

We got both Boxhall and Said with a F2... i.e. we traded F2 for 45+F4, took Boxhall with 45 then traded that F4 for 60 to get Said.. so F2 went out but we got 2 players for it.. lets hope that at least 1 is good!

Big ticks all around, very happy to see how all this plays out and trust the club. Glad we have drafted for talent, but also have addressed a variety of needs.

All eyes to the development team now, season 25 and perhaps maybe even to jag some free agents in the next year

I'd say the Lions are the ones for us. Next year's F2 for 46 and their 4 fourth rounders would be handy. Means we don't carry over points in a revised year where points reduce for each pick later on and Lions will definitely appreciate the future points.

List spots and knowing how many players clubs would take would definitely help in such an exercise. For example if we grabbed 46 from Lions, we could do 46 & 51 for GWS' 36 (if they had 2 spots to fill).

Out: 51, F2
In: 36, 56, 59, 66, 69

That sounds too good to be true, what am I missing here? We could easily add an F3 or F4 somewhere to even things up or take one less 4th rounder. But honestly, that's the ideal scenario for us.

Grab 2 more in the 30s, Cole, then Hofmann and rookie Elwood.

This just proves the whole, what would we know theory. This sounded too good to be true yet we've definitely done better.

It'll be my last Jack Ough post (I promise) but I find it ironic that the centrepiece of these trades was the GWS pick. The same pick was used for Jack bloody Ough! Funny how things work out really...

As the dust settles, I think we should all agree we have had a fantastic draft. Added quality across all lines, all in keeping with our game style and with huge upside.

To those who have embarrassed themselves with wild emotional swings, unfounded statements and knee-jerk reactions, use this time to look inward and work on yourselves x

I am going to struggle with 3 of them. The two blondes and the beanstalk will stand out, Barrett, Boxhall and Said may be difficult.

So two blond bombshells and 4 Non Blondes?

Cue What’s up?

If everyone wants an interesting read.

Wce _ Phil (no spaces) is a poster on the eagles board. Looks like he works for the eagles. Was involved in their draft night.

Says they spoke to us about 8. But the minimum offer was their pick 12+ Hawthorns F1 and that we would have had better offers.

Interesting what he says about Allan and everything else

Better offers than 12 and an F1!? Yowza.

Dodson the next Dean Cox, he doesn’t really play like Grundy imo like the fox guys were saying. Incredible he slid so far.
Only downside of the night is narrowly missing on Shanahan, surely we’d have taken him. Hoping we’re seeing early debuts for most of the lads. When do they get #’s?
Go saints!
