Don't want Hotton Shanahan Whitlock or Trainor. Give me one of those bloody top 6 mids or Tauru and Reid. Get a ruck with 32. Keep it simple. If we split 8, I will accept Lindsay or Travaglia with Hynes.

Sounds like we could take Ruckman Lachie Blackiston 26 year old from East Fremantle. Would be very late pick or rookie. He was flown over by St Kilda for a medical recently.

NGA Cole and Hoffman 197cm and 190cm down back.

7 & 8 should be prioritized on mids with Tauru the only exception but I'm confident he won't be available. Langford and one of Travaglia/Reid/Lindsay.

32 on best available. In order of Hannaford, Angus Clarke, Sims, Mraz, Barat

Not sure whether anyone has noticed this, but our Sandy rookie draft player could well be Peckett. Sounds like double dipping to me but at least we don’t need to waste a pick on another Sandy player that we don’t want or need just to fulfil that agreement.

“Come join Sandy, you might get a chance at AFL! But probably not because we’ll just take an academy kid and pretend we considered you.”

I do like the look of tauru and he may well be best available at our picks, but I feel Lenny Hoffman has some similar attributes and athletic profile as him. I doubt we take tauru for this reason. I'm praying he goes before us, we then take whoever slides out of Langford/smillie and then I can really see Ross wanting an athletic beast like Allan over someone like Reid to pair with the slider. Can't come quick enough.

Its a sound move by the club and it sends a message to Sandringham to get their act together and recruit some decent talent, hence the significant clean out at TBBO.

Maybe but they both can play in the same side in differing roles. Perfectly fine to take them together and hope to develop them in the same backline imo

Tauru as a 3rd tall, Hof in the Webster role. Tauru might even be able to play CHB if developed correctly

Just the loophole we wanted.
Maybe we should trust the club knows what it’s doing afterall?

Its really getting ahead of ourselves to worry about two late draftees making it so well .

Tauru is not a late draftee

I'm just arguing the case. Discussing anything about the draft whether its about pick 7&8 turning out fortunes around or little things like our NGA guys is getting ahead of ourselves no?

Considering half the Zebs team have recently moved to other clubs, it's not hugely bad faith to take an academy player this year on a technicality instead. I agree it's not a great look, but **** it - we'll have to wear it this year and make better this time next year. If the standard of candidates doesn't improve, we can always box it and label it a failed experiment.

Bottom line: The draft and our academy class are simply too good to pass over. At this point in the club's development, this decision is too crucial to play "fair".

Besides, it would be far better for St Kilda to use its resources to making Sandringham a better club rather than this bogus list management short-cut.

OK , i've been following the Saints too long.
I worry about none of them being good enough to play.
You worry about fitting all the gun players in the same team.

Betweeen us we have the worries covered.

Young talent? 😂

Maybe for Malvern.

They are very average VFL footballers.
Agree, there are many players that have pulled on the Sandy jumper since our alignment that haven’t even been top line players at local level.

The reality is, it’s challenging to attract talent when you’re an affiliated club as opposed to either a standalone AFL or VFL side because it’s not seen as the best move to get drafted.

We will always be getting the guys that want to play VFL but aren’t quite up to it as top up players.

You need only look at the talent at Southport, Werribee, Port Melbourne and the AFL clubs with their stand alones to see this

If Tauru is there you have to take him.
Best available, can play forward or back.
Doubt he makes it to our pick.
Yeah but that's the problem with Tauru - what position are you drafting him for?

Pick 7/8 for a swing man is way to high.

Possibly 3/4 years before he finds his real role.

this is the greatest news,i raised the possibility of this some time ago and it seemed to be quashed,i really hope its true, cannot see the point of hamstringing ourselves with a list clogger one year, then watching the next gary ablett sr who lands at sandy being taken by a club with a pick higher than ours another year

if we can have the option to take a sandy player if we luck out and get a good one,or simply move our nga or f/s over to get a game or 2 so they qualify, when the list has nothing but gop's,then thats a win for us,the way forward without this option was a load of bullshit

This isn’t his phantom. Just his rankings. Will be different come Monday night

Pretty much linked us to every top pick (Draper, Smith, Langford , Smillie) and also Travaglia and Allan and Tauru.
I’m aware of what this is fellas.

I’m asking you to read where he thinks the players kinda of fit

For example he doesn’t think Langford makes it to 7.

But Hones in on Murphy Reid for us
