If we trade with GWS 32 might be used to 'balance out' the trade? I still think using 7&8 is our best go, but like Cal said Reid could still be available at 15&16. So we still could get Reid plus Trainor/Lindsay/Hynes.

Its the same reason as taking a Sandringham spud - LIST SPOTS. Why not take a kid who at least has a chance of a future.

Well whether you like it or not, we need a backup ruck for Row and Heath. I remember you are a fan of Blakiston which is fine, but it seems most fans and the club prefer Boyd

I'll go Smillie as my least desirable.

There is always a top 10 and often feeding off each others hype, this year it has chopped and changed more than any I can remember. Guys like Langford, Tarau and Reid weren't anywhere near it. Trainor was a top 5 pick. Cody Anderson and Moraes were in the top run at the start of the year. I wouldn't be surprised if a few clubs pull the trigger early on players. The evenness is the unique part of this one. Players taken in the teens and twenties might end up the stars of the draft.

If I was putting together a list of the most likely to be top AFL players I'd go Ashcroft, Jagga, Trainor, Langford, FOS, Lombard and Reid.

I reckon guys like Hynes, Shanahan and Faul could end up stars outside that run. Even Hannaford, Gross and Moraes could end up better than the top kids. To me it's a really exciting draft because of that depth. I'm having as many swings at as I can. No way I'd be looking to move up at the cost of picks in this one. Like any draft it's likely that a lot of the players we love will end up not making the cut let alone being stars though.

It's interesting Gring, I remember a post early doors where you said you didn't want Langford because he couldn't kick. How things have changed in our collective world!

Carlton forcing Adelaide into a trade with north would be huge for us. It really depends on how bad they want Draper (he fills the biggest need for them) michael voss flying to Adelaide to see him isn’t a smoke screen that’s genuine intent.
